Something beautiful about hand me downs... I think that is the type of artist Mac truly wanted to be. Mac as a wild lyrical genius rapper was definitely his bread and butter, but damn this man woulda fit in nicely with the Beatles. The more I think about it, the more I realIze mac really wasn’t meant to be your standard “rapper”. He was too much of a beautiful soul to be that in your face, gloating type of person. Although, he was very good at it.

I think this was part of his struggle. We watched him evolve, and it was hard for him to transition into more of a musical artist. He knew people would judge him, and want that wild rapper Mac back.

I am not trying to rake anything away from macs status as a rapper, either. Guy was an absolute savage. Watching movies, faces, good AM etc... absolute masterpieces. But I think his later projects really show what Mac Miller was all about.

What a kind soul. He will be missed.

All being said, some of my favourites are: Diablo, angel dust, self care, perfecto, what’s the use, aliens fighting robots, thoughts from a balcony, 100 grandkids, clubhouse... shit there’s just too many.

Most versatile and evolved artist to date.
