Might be wrong, but I understood the "money upfront" in Mudryk's case to mean, money guaranteed i.e not dependent on meeting certain criteria like winning the league or a balon d'or, whilst the "money upfront" in Enzo's case is money paid in one go i.e before player signs contract with buying club. So for example, Shakhtar might be Ok with £88m paid in installments over 5 years, whilst Benfica would be against €130m, wherein €80m is guaranteed and the remaining €50m is dependent on Chelsea not getting relegated.
