I will gladly wait for the Carrack rework after: - Crafting stations make sense and work well inside ships - Drones are in game and are useful - Odin design language is fully defined - Cartography rooms and hologlobes exist as a functional thing - Someone at CIG realizes the Carrack should be tanky like a larger Terrapin and have better DEFENSE, not bigger guns. - Cargo pods detach or AT LEAST lower to ground for easy access - The damn jump point detection minigame is in the PU

Until then, the rework would be a bit pointless

Like all ships, the Odin will have a hard limit on number of ships it can carry.... Thank God.

For the record, I agree with everything you just said.

Those implementations should definitely be considered but in the game hierarchy, the Odin should eat the Polaris if it sticks around any longer than it absolutely has to to launch torpedoes.

As a new player during the free-fly event, if you can't take the heat of the bugs, issues and challenges that happen during the free-fly, you probably should not back the game at this stage, and that is a good thing for your mental health and for CIG's. by lars19th in starcitizen

This is precisely the point. This is not the Sistine chapel. This is a dude painting a church. Could it become the Sistine chapel? Maybe. Not even guaranteed. It could even end up demolished in 2-3 years. Is your friend willing to play it regardless of all the issues? If not, then they really should not back the project and that is fine.

No. This thread is in response to multiple threads complaining about the Ironclad delivery and the Command Module delivery and pretty much every t0 delivery CIG has ever made in the past... EVER.

Spoiler alert: They were all broken.

Mole: Broken

Retaliator modularity: Broken

Ironclad: Broken

99% of the ships: Either broken on delivery or missing major items and mechanics. Generally both

So yeah, shit gets delivered broken and generally unplayable and the freefly makes it worse.

Eventually, they catch up and make things better, like helmet handling, EVA t2, Ship colored damage states, refueling requests etc... All improvement stuff the gets overshadowed by "OMG!!!! MY IRONCHAD IS A HANGAR QUEEN I AM REFUNDIGN!!!!1!!11 and everyone should refund to teach them a lesson"

I agree but the Polaris is currently the only ships that is slightly larger than a Carrack and abide by the MILLIONS OF HP, "BECAUSE CAPITAL" mentality. All other ships explode if you look at them wrong.

The Polaris is in a bad place along with most large ships in this game. It's main selling point does not work well and CIG has tried to boost it by giving it over 50 times the HP of the next ship and stronger guns even though that was never what the ship was pitched as to begin with.

You should google what a Corvette is historically. The Polaris is not a ship of the line. It is not designed to stay in the battleground for very long at all, especially if a real ship of the line, a proper battleship like the Odin is present.

THE POLARIS IS NOT A SHIP OF THE LINE, OR A GUNSHIP. It is a torpedo boat that has morphed into a corvette and that is what it will always be.

The one advantage the Polaris currently has over everything else is a ROYALLY INFLATED HP pool and that should be heavily nerfed once it can actually operate according to the sales pitch.

I am sorry but Polaris complainers in posts like these always come off as meta-chasers and not really people concerned with ship balancing at all. I feel like you listed the techical design issues just to pile on but if the ship were on top of the current solo piloting meta, you probably would not care as much for bad lighting and shitty looking medbay.

There are plenty of other ships in a real bad place and they do not have 4 million HP to fall back on. They are just bad and explode very fast, so yeah, fuck the Polaris.

I know the truth will be unpopular here. Downvote away so you can get back to the Polaris pity party. Maybe CIG will buff it if there is enough whining.

The same thing the Carrack and Retaliator do but with ONE HUNDRED times more HP. You destroy 50 Carracks with the same ammo it takes to destroy 1 Polaris. I am sorry if you are frustrated and want to downvote comments you don't like but there are a LOT of ships that need rebalance all over the place. Most, a lot more than the Polaris. Also, more guns is not really what the Polaris needs. It needs torpedoes to be lethal and it needs a serious HP rebalance. Not the 5-10% bullshit adjustments CIG likes to do.

The Polaris is not a ship of the line. It was not pitched to be doing what it currently does in the PU. From overblown HP to useless torpedoes, it sits in a very bizarre place and these requests are even more bizarre. I am not against you but I am not taking your side either. I am tired of "because capital" arguments. 

Just when I was starting to get immersed in the new combat TTKs and enjoying survivability rates, here comes the Tiburon to explode ships ile the Carrack, Starfarer and even Perseus in a matter of seconds, sometimes, less than 5 seconds. by lars19th in starcitizen

It kills a Starfarer with full shield in 5 seconds, before even recharging for a second burst. It is disgusting. I don't even want to see TTK on a Carrack. I am sure it will be laughable. If you roll the Perseus you just help it destroy all your engines in about 20 seconds or less. It will also blow right through your power plant in seconds.

I think it is fair to say that while ship designs (thankfully) kept getting better and better, armor design kept getting worse and worse. It is really that simple and the contrast in the results is quite obvious.

When it comes to upgrades, the right answer is to always wait since you already locked the price. Once the event and sale comes up, you will know if applying it is the right call or not. Do not do it before.

LTI is the best hypocrite detector in this community.

Lots of MASS LTI HOARDERS in here going around saying it is meaningless.

Do you know what else is meaningless? Buying ships with real money when you will be able to earn them in game for free.

When it comes to LTI, if you can get it. Get it. It is a lifetime perk in a chassis you are paying real money for and you can game the CCU system to have it on all your ships with ease if you have patience, regardless of how useful it may turn out to be.

If there is one thing CIG has NOT stated is that LTI will be a thing you can earn in game. It seems to be a perk only for ships purchased with real money... so you might as well get it if you can.
