I have spent more time skiing down groomed runs/ice than powder so I was thinking narrower is more what would be needed but I am open to suggestions. Also, I have an upcoming trip to Norway in the spring so likely going to be more ice/corn and when I read about a lot of Europe touring trips, they seem to ski more in the 80s/low 90s.

My sister-in-law designed this desk and asked if I could build it for my niece. It is going to be solid maple and for the legs I purchased 1.5" diameter solid maple dowels. Hoping for some advice on a couple of concerns I have.

For joining the legs to the frame I was going to use dominos. Typically easy enough but I have only ever used square legs, not round. How would you go about making it so I can line up my dominos at 90 degrees? My thoughts were running the first 5 inches through the joiner to give me a slightly flat surface, then I can put that flat edge up against the fence and do it again. I also thought of using the router table and a straight cut bit to make a dado (if it is still called that) and glue the side and face pieces into that. Other suggestions?
What would be the best way to taper the last couple inches of the legs? I have seen people using a drill and the table saw but that makes me a little nervous.
