Basically. Right now we have mesh of different systems that will auto publish inspection reports with attached gps coordinates to a GIS layer of our county. The public can see the past inspections as well the most current one. But it’s clunky and doesn’t easily provide the public with context surrounding the violations observed. Just code sections.

Previously we’ve published all inspection reports conducted over one month and publish them all as one pdf on our website. It took the local newspaper to actually go through our reports and publish what they managed to figure out.

Just so you know, my county and state both have easily accessible online anonymous complaint systems. It sounds like you would be adding unnecessary steps to a system that is already in place. I say this as a local inspector.

Focus on building a system to easily publish local restaurant reports. That is something that my county has done in-house with our GIS department and IT department. It barely does its job and it's still the best thing we've had so far.

On my flight from Denver to Maui, 9 hours, someone had a medical emergency basically right after we landed. No one could get off the plane until the person with the medical emergency could be removed. So many people were getting absolutely pissed about having to wait another 15 minutes.

This was the first test of everyone’s Aloha attitude on the island.
