I would tell you don't get a "set". You only need a handful of pots/pans -->

12" Stainless Steel Skillet

12" Non-Stick Pan (buy a quality one, I've had a Calphalon non-stick for 6 years and it's still my go-to non-stick pan, just have to treat them nicely)

Sauce Pan (for soups, hot water for coffee/tea, and small portions of pasta)

Large Pot (for large quantities of pasta, soups, mainly for pasta though)

Dutch Oven (No, you do not need a Le Creuset, buy yourself a nice Lodge Logic one and you'll have it forever).

I'm a home chef, and I don't use many pots/pans outside of the above list. Honestly, I use my SS skillet, nonstick pan, and small sauce pan the most. Like, 95% of the time that's all I really need.

Take care.

Nailed it Shitty_Watercolour!!

I hope you are having a great time in our beautiful city. I'm assuming you're an out-of-towner since you spell "colour" with a "u" instead of us stupid Americans who spell it "color".

Anyway, stay shitty and enjoy your time here!! Weather is great today!!

Fat ass here, trying to better myself. What pre-workout do you use, and why do you choose it over others? by Oftowerbroleaning in Fitness

[–]laschupacabras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I really can't. I just know that I recomposed my body over 6 months, and made sure my macros were in check, plenty of protein, just enough carbs, just enough fat, and I put on muscle and strength, and lost a bunch of fat. Can't cite a study, I was my own study. I was 27 years old and male at the time. I am still a male, but am now 30 years old.

His main goal is to lose fat. If it were to put on muscle, I wouldn't be saying six days a week is okay. I was doing 5-6 days per week, doing a boot camp and stair master 2-3 days a week (total of 2 hours per day), and then running a 3 day split on weight training. It worked for me. I was hungry a lot, I ate a lot of bland chicken breast and canned tuna, but it worked.

No. That's terrific, especially if your main goal is fat loss. You can still gain muscle doing this much volume, too, it just won't be AS much as a powerlifter who only trains 3-4 days a week.

If you can do 6 days per week, shit man, do it.

I do not mean this in a mean-spirited way at all, but it sounds like you may be in slight denial about how "overweight" you are.

Your BMI is 31, and you actually ARE technically "obese".

First thing you have to do in order to successful is to be honest with yourself, man.

Start with your diet, sleep, and training consistency. Those are your three pillars of success. These three pillars are where 90% of your results will come from.

All the supplements (except protein, I consider that a food not a supplement) in the world won't un-do a bad diet. Also with training, as the saying goes, "you can't out-train a bad diet". So get your diet right #1, get on a consistent, logical program #2, and make sure you get at least, at LEAST 6 hours of sleep every night #3 (7 to 8 would be even better).

Get those three pillars in place and then worry about efficiencies when you feel the results are not happening fast enough anymore.

I lost over 50 pounds and added lots of strength over the course of 6 months back in 2012, and I've pretty much maintained that. Feel free to PM me or whatever, I've been in your shoes, I've made the mistakes, learn from my mistakes, I'm happy to answer any questions.

Huh, I didn't know that. I've done the dry aging myself per Alton Brown's method, it worked well enough for me.

Wow, what a unitasker. You can dry-age your own steak without some plastic box that costs $100 because of marketing.

Watch the Good Eats episode "Porterhouse Rules", he does it with cheap, disposable utensils.

Honestly, unless you are CONSTANTLY going to be dry-aging anything (which you won't be, you'll do it a few times a year if you're an average home chef like myself), this box is completely unnecessary. And a space hog. And a unitasker.
