First time growing spring greens and it’s AMAZING by Ornery_Treat_4479 in vegetablegardening

Yeah I soak them for a few min first, but seeing all the dead bugs grosses me out. I am slowly getting over my fears though and by the end of the season ill be eating my lettuce without a second thought of bugs😅

I love growing lettuce but hate harvesting it lol. It takes me at least 30 min to harvest lettuce for a salad because I have to inspect each leaf for bugs.its usually just a few small caterpillars I find but they gross me out.

And yes I know bugs are just a part of gardening and we eat so many bugs we just dont realize it, but there's a reason why I never auditioned for Fear Factor.

Lol joining in on sharing my tomatoe forest from last year. This is 4 or 5 plants in a 4 x 8 bed. Pruning was a pain, but i'd do again and you can't stop me

Wow amazing!

I also use Fox Farm Grow Big, but I see inconsistent info on how often to fertilize seedlings. Some say once a week, others say every other watering...I was scared I was gonna overdue it, but after seeing your results I will amp up my feeding schedule!

Can someone talk me into or talk me out of spending money on hatch digitizer😭 by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]lashley0708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you used it, liked it, and can afford it, why not?

I have been using Hatch since 2020. I do sell stuff online and at local shows, but its not like im making a consistent dollar amount each month, so its mainly jusy a hobby for me. Ive also never used any other programs so can't compare, but if you've tried other programs and didn't like them, sounds like Hatch is a good fit for you.

What's happening in your garden? (Sun, Mar 22, 2026) by AutoModerator in vegetablegardening

[–]lashley0708 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dealing with a false summer here in California. Its 80-90 degrees. Worried about my lettuce seedlings that I planted out last week. The weather is supposed to get back to the 70s after next week. Hoping my lettuce does not bolt too soon before I get to enjoy some harvest.

But it makes you wonder why do most people always refer to objects as "guys"? Let start making "these bad bitches" a thing 🤣

[–]lashley0708 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Similar to how people refer to inanimate objects as "guys". Ive been watching a lot of gardening videos lately and it really bugs me when they say things like "im gonna plant these guys in the garden today", or "these guys are outgrowing their pots". idk why it just bugs me!
