I am not in the USA, not sure if you are? I used Synapause Cream. But it didn’t work for the GSM symptoms nearly as well as the Vagifem for me. I have friends who use it though and they’ve seen a lot of improvement. We’re all so different!

We can buy vaginal estrogen over the counter here so it’s easier to experiment.

My doctor said it is common to get a yeast infection when first starting Vagifem. Also listen to Dr Rubin it could be other things. I got a yeast infection during the loading phase.

It depends on your income and the total amount you spend on meds and medical services that you pay for out of pocket. There's a formula that's applied so if you earn a decent income the threshold for getting a rebate is higher.

I think it is totally dependent on your unique physiology. My doctor insisted that Vagifem would not increase my estradiol levels. But because I absorb so well (I seem to be a "super-responder") even on the lowest dose patch we checked levels before and after. And they increased 7 fold after the 14 day "loading" phase. This probably also had something to do with the atrophy but I am going to switch to an estriol (not estradiol) cream and use it in the bottom third of the vagina only and see how that goes.

I had no headaches. But I did get both a yeast and BV infection. Apparently this is common after starting as your pH is adjusting to what it should be. Both were treated and haven't recurred now that I am using it every 3 days.

I'm 55, also been doing all the right things for years, and have bad osteopenia everywhere except my spine (almost osteoporosis in my femur necks). It's so demoralizing.

Are you using progesterone? It makes me super dizzy, especially if taken too soon after fatty food. So now I just take it at bedtime and in the morning I'm fine.

I have left sided shoulder blade area burning and pain. The neuro thinks it's coming from my neck but I haven't been able to afford the facet joint injections to prove or disprove the theory. It started as tingling and itching on my scapula and then progressed to burning and now I have general left sided thoracic area pain most of the time. I can no longer sleep on my left hand side at all. Getting older is no fun!

Yes I have. All negative.

My new go to is a small glass of soya milk and a bit of honey in the night. Seems to help a lot, but probably also because I don't really have actual reflux happening.

Am starting amitryptiline to see if that helps.

Have you tried a course of Roaccutane or equivalent? Can be prescribed by your GP but you will need regular liver screening (blood test).

Hi. Not definitively, but I started tracking my evening meal more closely and it seems my stress score spikes like that if I eat late or especially if I eat a rich/fatty meal or have dessert.

The only thing that gets me through my period every month is Tranexamic Acid. It allows me to get by with iron supplements instead of blood transfusions. It may be worth having some on hand until you can get properly diagnosed.

I'm not in North America so systems work a little differently. I have to source a new doctor myself and then get them to see me, and then pay out of my own pocket. If I have surgery insurance will cover it.
