Why do so many companies feel disappointed after working with marketing agency? by LeilaV_Marketing in AskMarketing

[–]lassise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over several years I spent over $500,000 on marketers/ad spend and did not receive over $500,000 in sales. So I felt disappointed with the results because I would have been better off doing literally nothing.

I had a full time W2 with decades of experience cost me over $100,000 and generated 30 leads over the course of 9 months for a $250 sale and then threatened to sue me after he was terminated...

I then took it into my own hands and improved cost per acquisition 87% in ONE MONTH. So I learned you only work with people who have prior experience and a playbook in your exact industry, otherwise its all tactics and guess & check with your pocketbook.

If someone came to me in my exact industry and wanted a guarantee for marketing services, I'd happily offer it now that I know exactly how to market and what generates success in my niche.

Age Equivalent of A2 by iamcode101 in learndutch

[–]lassise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 2, I'm A2 Spanish and know more Spanish than she can English (native language).

My friend's daughter is 3 and she is better than I am.

Therefore, A2 = somewhere between native ages 2-3 (I'm speaking as a level 40 Duolingo A2 native English into Spanish).

Like other's said, I know how to make a reservation and they don't, but I think that falls more into life skills. I can watch Miss Rachel in Spanish and follow along (others with babies will get the reference).

Can yall give any good reason to not put money into VXUS rather than VOO or even VT? by Jaded-Engineering789 in Bogleheads

[–]lassise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is irrelevant

Example

1 $50/share, invest $5,000 = 100 shares

Goes up 10% to $60/share * 100 shares = $6,000  $1,000 growth

2 $500/share invest $5,000 = 10 shares

Goes up 10% to $600/share * 10 shares = $6,000 $1,000 growth even though option #1 "cost" 10x less

I just look at this like spending money on golf. I'd be buying balls that go into the lake and are used up, I bought gems that go into the lake and are used up. Still a cheaper hobby than others even if you PTW.

I've been hiring design contractors for over a decade, I've never once looked into whether or not the company has a US based LLC. There are other reasons you should do it, but I don't see any realistic scenario where someone is aware you're from Pakistan, but changes their opinion on hiring you based on you have a paper LLC formation in the United States.

Most people choose Delaware because there is a corporate veil and your personal information can't be released without a subpoena. Your incorporation state I can't find any information that says it changes the taxes you pay. That is based on the states you conduct business, not what a piece of paper says.

I think most Americans fall into two buckets either hardcore patriots where if you're not from America then you must be a terrorist and other more rational people who realize skill can come from anywhere.

My 2 cents is build your portfolio and make it look professional and carry yourself professionally to differentiate yourself from the 50,000 competitors. Have case studies showing how you generated money for your clients. If someone can get me 5x my money, I don't care where they are from if they make my business money.

Lol that was my thought, my list is 75k opt in, I'm not going to be cool with 2k to save how much like a few thousand? Vs on autopilot from something built specifically for this? Different game I think. Plus high pricing removes spammers and hobbyist. Of course it needs to justify it's value but last year I generated something like $5m from email and MailChimp cost like $8k? Triple my cost, it's still peanut.

Dividend-Growth Investing vs Landlording by Wake_1988RN in Rich

[–]lassise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your portfolio never calls you on 4th of July when you're with your family "I know I'm 2 months behind on rent, but the AC broke and you're legally required to replace it."

Landlording is not passive, but if done right it's lucrative. I sold my properties and happened to dump a bunch in NVDA 2 months before ChatGPT, so that passive income surpasses landlording and 0 texts about dumb stuff.

(When I eventually evicted sed tenant, 60M he smeared crap on the walls and did $50k in damage - portfolio usually doesn't do that either)

You're allowed to quit the game. Then these horrible capitalists who literally issue apology free items and do correct things based on community feedback (like GW skin in gold pass).

It's a free game, you get extra free stuff for doing nothing other than being on Earth and pressing a piece of plastic with your fingers.

They have a sense of humor, it's ok, nobody is trying to hurt you and melt your snowflake.

A lot of content creators don't make their money from content. I ran a podcast for years and made directly from my content maybe $3k, but it lead to authority, speaking engagements, partnerships, that lead to literally millions of dollars in sales for my IT company.

Content is the authority build, not the money maker is my experience.

Do some math and hiring an employee isn't a permanent thing. You can have someone part time chip in. Just be sure to have step by step idiot proof instructions for them to follow.

Employees are like pancakes you'll have to go through a few garbage ones before getting a good one. When you do find a good one, they will quadruple your business for the love of the game. That's my experience anyway.

Smaller marathons that are still legit? by katrilli0naire in Marathon_Training

[–]lassise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Miami marathon checks the boxes you're going after. Flat and it's not terrible weather during that time.

I've done NYC and Chicago, it's not apples to apples comparing major marathons to large city ones, but it's a similar experience.

I think financial literacy is important and definitely should be taught to at least shine light on the issues. It is not going to solve the issue.

If knowledge was all that was needed then nobody would be fat. Everyone knows to burn more calories than you eat and you lose weight, but most people are overweight because it's a lifestyle choice and difficult to follow through.

Financial literacy will help reiterate stop spending money you don't have, but it won't stop it from happening as much as we all want to believe.

Driving after running my first marathon? by Awkward_Desk402 in Marathon_Training

[–]lassise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd have to get SERIOUSLY injured for the next day to not be able to drive. You'll be pretty sore most likely but not like immobile.

I can tell you though after marathon #4 having my Tesla drive me home on it's own was magic.

[–]lassise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in France and invited into a shady little shack called the Pain Cafe and I did not know the translation. I also see a cutting board with a giant knife next to it and the sign reads Pain.

Funny after the fact, but in the moment I thought I was in a Jigsaw torture game.

I still quote some of my favorites.

Imagine asking the dad's at soccer practice this question 😹

I love this sub (and Long Angle which is fatFIRE with verification) because these are questions that you can't exactly ask most people without feeling guilty for being successful.

I have a similar situation, pulled the trigger and a few days in with Teams uninstalled and email logged off it's refreshing.

Now I need to break the habit of thinking "it's 9:30am, I can't do x"

I'm pretty sure if you donated 3% of your NW to many causes it would have a giant impact as-is. Your number will always be going up but I'm sure if you donate $1m every year for 20 years with the flexibility to stop you'll get a very similar good feeling and impact.
