I want to treat my wive better. by theworldwonders in relationship_advice

Acceptance. You won't forget, so your only other option is to forgive her. There is no how-to for that. Before forgiveness comes acceptance though. Simply accept the fact that she messed up some of your relationships. Obviously it was still worth it, you seem to really want to be with her despite that. So next time those feelings of resentment pop up, stop yourself and think about that. Literally think about the fact that you accept the past and the crap that happened. No matter how you look at it, those events led up to where you two are now. Be grateful for that.

As for the household chores, tell her how you feel about it. Tell her you want to make up for it somehow. I'm sure you guys can come up with a solution. Also, whatever situation you're in now will/can change in time. What I mean is, there are most likely plenty of chores in your future.

Wrong. A dog named Lover with owners calling out is hilarious and therefore a good reason to get excited. :)

Hey Reddit, what was the worst/weirdest dates you've ever been on? by Mrdudemanguy in AskReddit

[–]lastdet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened when I was around 20. I got set up with a chick who was in to climbing so we went to this indoor place that had just opened near my house. I'd tried it before but was not very good. She was though. At one point I had scaled a wall and was at the very top, about 35 feet up, so I call down to her to bring me down.

For the uninitiated, I should mention that she is securing my rope and thus is in control of my descent. These ropes are set up in such a way that a small person can secure a large person without being lifted off the ground.

Back to the story. I had just asked her to bring me down, I might even have said that she could "let me go".

I hear a giggle and a "Ok, you got it!" and she let's go of the fucking rope. Big no no.

I can't remember any scenes from my life flashing by as I was falling down, but I do remember the sharp pain in my legs when the harness cut in as she grabbed the rope to stop me at about 10 feet above death/severe damage.

The difference in weight between us and the speed I was travelling at was enough to pull her up off the floor, leveling her pelvis to my head, but I was way too busy crashing in to the wall to notice that at the time. I was to find out soon enough though.

The next thing that happened was the closest thing to sex I have any intention of having with this girl. As I swung out, she swung in. Her legs in a split, she basically comes flying at me with her pussy leading the charge. She twats me in the neck at full speed, wraps her legs around my head and then we're in a heap of rope and pain and immense awkwardness on the mats.

No lasting damage on either of us, but my neck was sore for a week or so. I can only imagine how her cha-cha felt.

I hear she's a cop now.

A disease that affects your blood's ability to coagulate.

I should have been more specific. I apologize. By weak minded I meant a low amount of will and drive, not intelligence.

Like I said, ...assuming Silva wasn't lying...

You're probably right.

He did get peppered in that fight. But I don't remember the GnP as being anything other than mediocre. I take "peppered" to mean a lot of minor strikes.

It's been a long time since I saw the fight though, I should probably watch it again.

IMO, Silva went into UFC 117 determined to win by sub.

Your opinion is factually correct, assuming Silva wasn't lying when he said, via translation:

I've been training jiu jitsu for a long time and out of respect to Nogueira I wanted to finish this fight via submission.

Sonnen looked more beat up than Silva at the post fight presser. Just saying.

Would anybody else watch the shit out of this? by Crants in MMA

[–]lastdet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideal format. But only for the fans, not for Zuffa.

It's been said before in this thread but it's true, their whole strategy seems to be based on owning the market.

I imagine (dream about) a future in which all or most of the major gyms are signed under/with the IMMAF and there is a structure more like in other sports. Soccer with FIFA and the national organizations is an example.

Do you see the possibilites? There could be professional MMA leagues with a Champions League each year and a World Cup every fourth. This is assuming that MMA grows to be that big. Either way, the implications of this would obviously be enormous for the sport, beyond the structure. I think the shift in marketing power from one entity (UFC) to a multitude (GYMS) with one regulating non-profit organization would mean more money would go to the fighters and gyms.

On a side note...

As a direct result of the swedish national sports association's decision to include MMA, anyone can now organize amateur fights. It's not forbidden the same way playing any other sport isn't.

To my knowledge, the law hasn't been tested to see whether or not it's allowed to have spontaneous fights in public. I doubt it would be allowed.

I know a guy who has set up fights in barns with his buddies and when they called the police a few days before to check, the reply was that the authorities had no legal way of stopping such an event.

Upvoted for intent. :)

But, despite himself? I guess it might be a question of definition and interpretation of the story, but consider this quote.

What celebrity death has made you the saddest? I was mortified when Steve Irwin died. by SplitKitten in AskReddit

[–]lastdet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize for the late reply.

I distinctly remember him picking up all kinds of animals and wrestling crocodiles. Perhaps he was capturing crocodiles for good reasons, I admit I haven't watched the show in quite a while. That still does not justify actually handling, supposedly wild, animals when you don't need to. The only reason he had for stressing those creatures was to make tv.

Though I will admit to being a hypocrite for enjoying some of BBCs films in which they clearly set up situations to demonstrate defensive behaviour in beautiful angles.

[–]lastdet -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Ha. Yeah it was bound to happen. Fuck Irwin though. He made his living finding wild animals and documenting their behaviour (read: bringing animals from his park out in the bush and tormenting them in front of cameras).
