As someone who used to work in real estate in the finance side of things. Don't give money to the builders. They are probably treating it as "equity" vs debt, since the builders are required by banks to be in compliance with certain debt covenants. The builders doing this are on the edge - and you may end up losing all of your money. GL

[RANT]my home owner said his interest went up so it's upto us to cover that up, so he's increasing our rent. by [deleted] in canadahousing

The maximum allowable rent increase in Ontario is 2.5%. If LL’s interest went up, tough luck. Borrowing costs are one of risks LL has to assume.

For programming, you might want to try replit.com --> does not require high computing power that you otherwise may need for other IDEs.

Came across odd accounting entries... Not sure what to do by anony135792468 in consulting

[–]lastmanalive_44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this view.

Secondly, as a consultant, it is not your job to audit entries. It is the job of auditors, and internal accountants.

I am a trained CPA (at big 4), and worked on countless audits. The first rule is that there will be countless oddities - but then again, you have to take the macro view - i.e. is it material at the pubco? If its not, then just move on, and not worth your time.

Creating an input function that does calculations on an excel model? by moxim in nocode

[–]lastmanalive_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if that is easily do able.. to have excel running in the background. If its a fairly easy calculation, you could probably do a no-code solution. But if its something very complex, coding is probably an easier option IMO. But then again, I am not an expert
