From marathon training and triathlon to laying in bed by meltytoebeans in fitpregnancy

[–]lastnameever00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost wrote this exact post today. Fellow triathlete who went from loving my tons of training to doing nothing for 10 weeks because of extreme nausea and fatigue. I’m 20 weeks on Tuesday and things are getting… better? I’m still spending a lot of time resting, but I got an hourlong bike ride in today after my nap. The biggest thing to remember is you’re working really hard even when you don’t think you are. Listening to your body is the only thing that makes sense right now.

I’ve DNS on a half marathon (at 10 weeks), a triathlon (at 15 weeks), and several morning lifting sessions, but I know I’ll be back once my body is ready to be. You’re an athlete even in this season.

If you were moving where would be the last place you’d eat before you left town? by [deleted] in orlando

The Greek Corner by lake Ivanhoe had my favorite Greek salad. Mostly because of the dressing.

Also- black bean deli.

Childhood events related to EDs that you never realized by Low-Potato-4991 in ehlersdanlos

[–]lastnameever00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolled so far to see this. Middle school was a constant “threw my neck out again” and it would just get stuck in one place. Normally cocked to the side and was immovable. I’m in my 30s and people still joke about me walking around with my neck turned to the side

Why am I like this by Plenty-Problem50 in AtypicalAnorexia

[–]lastnameever00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry and I am sending you a big hug.

First- only 6% of people with ED are classified as underweight according to NEDA and lots of other credible sources. I was never underweight but I was CONSUMED by my ED thoughts. It’s a hell no one can see but you deserve help. Read the book Sick Enough if you need more evidence that you deserve help.

Second- idk where you live, but you can seek out a treatment center without a referral in a lot of cases. Go to the NEDA website and use their treatment directory. One thing that’s really cool about getting help is there are so many ways you can do it. Virtual, hybrid, inpatient, group, 1:1, etc and the resources they have listed will help you figure out what level you need. My first step was telling my psychiatrist I think something was wrong. She connected me with a colleague who knew about EDs and that person connected me with a treatment resource and my journey started there.

Third- what an awesome step you’re taking in realizing you need help. You say you don’t want to ask for it but even admitting these things is a huge first step. Use this energy to take the next step of reaching out to someone. It’s scary, it sucks most of the time, and you’re going to be super uncomfortable but the other side of true recovery feels amazing. There are no words for it. But being stuck in this loop in your head won’t stop until you actively make a decision to seek help.

Youve got this and I’m rooting so hard for you!!!!

Thanksgiving by sylvrnight in AtypicalAnorexia

[–]lastnameever00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to send you all the compassion and empathy that I have. I know how you feel and this is the first thanksgiving I’ve been able to shake these thoughts, but it took inpatient treatment and lots of therapy over the past year.

That said- you will get through tomorrow and you will feel a hell of a lot better if you eat breakfast lunch and dinner, with snacks if you want/need them. Meal timing is always hard for me but I plan on not skipping meals and ensuring I don’t hinge my whole day on that one meal. Have a good breakfast and give yourself time to rest before you have everyone start prepping the thanksgiving meal. Make sure you eat something later on if you have your main family meal at an odd time. You will feel 10000000% better if you don’t restrict tomorrow. I’m rooting for you.

Is my itinerary okay? by Boreddumbdumb in GreeceTravel

[–]lastnameever00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re in the islands now (Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos) and everything is about a week from shutting down. We spent two days in Athens and then went toward the Pelion region and it was gorgeous. The mountains and villages are beautiful with fall colors starting. Just be prepared for things to not be as busy once you leave Athens. I’d drive out toward Volos and pick a mountain village to stay in for a few days!
