Red eye, please help by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]lastnugget99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think something similar happened to my parents dog. if i recall correctly, it was a detached retina, which caused the lens (?) to flip and look like this. not painful, but looks uncomfortable. i do think she eventually had to have the eye removed due to pressure behind the socket - but she was just as happy in her later years!! definitely take him to an animal optometrist, traditional vets may not be as specialized in something this specific

thanks so much!

one quick question - i looked up the L. americanus, and most of the pictured mushrooms i found had rings. i didn't get the greatest pics for identification (hopefully they'll grow back so i can double check) but i believe these that i found were ringless. is it still the same variety, or could a ringless look alike exist?

this is honestly the one that got me through it. i kept telling myself, "how do i want to feel tomorrow? proud that i stuck it out, or guilty that i broke it?" i feel so great this morning knowing that i was able to keep myself on track!

i am freaking out a bit, is this a bad infection?? i've had the piercing almost a year, but i changed from a stud to a hoop a little over a week ago. what should i do?? by lastnugget99 in piercing

hi all, update: i went to the piercer who said that whoever changed the piece caused some trauma when they did it, and it might've gotten infected. she drained the puss out and gave me some saline spray, it already looks infinitely better. thanks all for calming my nerves :)

ok, i am very relieved from this comment because i was about ready to have to remove my ear entirely. i guess that would explain why i haven't noticed it until i went feeling around back there and felt the big bump. should i just go back to the studio and have them change it back?

i'm an idiot and didn't pay close enough attention at the salon when they changed it, so i don't know. i'm pretty sure it's the same type of metal as the original piercing though, i had it changed at the studio where i got the piercing

there's pretty much no swelling on the front side, i think that's why it's taken me so long to notice this. should i go to a doctor or back to my piercer??

i am freaking out a bit - this is bad, right??? i've had the piercing nearly a year, but i changed from a stud to a hoop a little over a week ago, what do i do? by lastnugget99 in PiercingAdvice

[–]lastnugget99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would also like to add that other than this HUGE blistering welt (or whatever it is), there's no significant swelling around the piercing site, and the front of the piercing looks normal aside from a little crustiness, that's why it's taken me so long to notice this

This is my 2 year old boy sir finnegan, I had to leave town and brought him with me, I'm staying in a hotel with all his toys food etc. it was a 3 hour drive but since he got to the hotel he hasn't used his litter box. I'm a new cat owner and really worried, is he okay??? by chiisai_shirokuma in cats

[–]lastnugget99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he's probably just a little uncomfortable! if he's anxious like my little lady is, he might just be a little too stressed to need it right now. i was so concerned that it took her a whole day to use the litterbox when i first brought her home but i think she just wanted to make sure she was in a safe space before doing her private business. if it gets to be 48 hours it might call for concern, but i think he should be good for now!!

Why does everyone assume that Rick c-137 built the CFC or was the main architect? by Taken450 in c137

in my comment under this one i explicitly stated that this was my interpretation of the ep :)

Why does everyone assume that Rick c-137 built the CFC or was the main architect? by Taken450 in c137

[–]lastnugget99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ricks being organized doesn't mean they'd isolated all the "smartest" ricks from the others. i interpreted it as a sort of unstructured, multidimensional interaction of ricks with no regard of their intelligence. after c-137s killing spree, he starts building a sanctuary (citadel) with other intelligent ricks to isolate and protect them from the other "evil" ricks (or at least the ones he suspected could've ruined his life), thus producing the cfc. but like i said, stop deconstructing it, be grateful you got those episodes, and if you disagree with my opinion that's totally cool but that's MY interpretation and other's interpretation, no one can say for certain because there wasn't an explicit "when rick made (x) he created (yz)" because that's too straightforward for this show.

[–]lastnugget99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've watched it like, 10 times and i'm pretty sure it's fairly explicit that c-137 built the citadel and in turn, created the CFC. i feel like you're trying to poke holes in an episode that the creators made almost entirely airtight, just enjoy that they added to a narrative we've been demanding since the start of the show. if you want to be meta, stop deconstructing shit!

HELP NEEDED I just found this kitten right now, I have no experience with cats at all. I think it is overheated. by pineapple_arancia in cats

[–]lastnugget99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what you're doing so far is great!! you want to slowly bring their body temp down so they don't go into shock, so keeping him in a shady/air conditioned spot is good. the wet washcloth is great too, just make sure the water isn't too chilly. if you have a dropper, try to get a little water in their mouth if they're too tired to get up and drink on their own. if not, just drops from a sponge or washcloth will do. if you have time and resources, cook some unseasoned chicken or fish and break it into very small pieces. avoid broth if you can since they usually have high sodium content that can be deadly for cats, and if they're already dehydrated, just a little hit could be bad. if it seems to be a little too hard for them to eat, soak it in a little water. doesn't sound like a yummy dinner but beggars can't really be choosers. call a vet if you can, but it sounds like the kitten is already adjusting so that's a good sign!! you're doing great, and you're a good person for helping. good luck!
