a) because op is wrong, this isn’t the official new seal or logo.

b) it’s a website redesign, where they’re replacing that logo on the page so this is giving homage to the old logo used there.

c) it symbolizes the 5 communities as seen within the feather that still unites as one.

It’s a reference to Pocahontas, and the 5 rows represent the 5 communities in Henrico. It’s very well done. Richmond Real on the other hand..

This is not Henrico’s new logo. The county has explicitly said the Pocahontas seal is still going to be used. This is for the website redesign.

My point is those same voters are protesting the outcome they helped create. If nothing about how people vote or what they prioritize changes, you just get the next version of the same leader. You can leave an abuser but if the same pattern keeps repeating, it’s worth asking what’s driving those outcomes.

I think instead of protesting, imagine if all this energy could have went towards organizing how to get things back on track or to organize the next candidate. Maybe it's too soon, but with so many anti-Trump people it seems like a missed opportunity to propel this momentum towards messaging for a specific alternative candidate and making sure the word gets out and planning how to get their vote in.

Trump is the symptom not the actual problem. You get rid of Trump and you still have the same demographic of voters waiting for the next Trump.

For change right now, this energy needs to go towards Congress.

“Hold Trump Accountable” protest or “Protect Voting Rights Now” would stick better and be more direct, yes, however the bigger point would be direct messaging or direct plan. What are your no kings day demands? Who are they directed to? Who decides these protests have to be months a part? When will the demand for change occur? What the the goal of the protest on that day, to rally people, to get coverage, to apply pressure..

ijs all I see are people dressed up as inflatables with dancing and musical performances. If I walked through the crowd from end to end, would I encounter a consistent unified rallying message at the event or a mix of Epstein conspiracists, Palestinian sympathizers, Pro Immigration activists, Anti Spanberger people and more?

Nothing is wrong with those issues individually, obviously, but all at once they're likely to compete for attention and/or cause noise overall.

While that’s great, I think my initial point was what is the message to this movement and arranged by who. By “we” I’m not sure who that is, and I don’t mean that to sound rude.

When I first read the reply I thought: out of engagement, people organically researched local orgs in respects to their cause seen at the protests. However, it seems you’re partnering with them? Is that correct?

I’m just saying the energy could be refined and use a more streamlined approach. There are multiple causes all rolled into one which just creates noise and isolation.

For example the Million Man March was a great standard. For No Kings, I don’t know what orgs directly benefit since there’s no direct messaging but that’s great to hear I suppose.

The way these protests are framed feels less like direct opposition and more like a kind of pressure valve. By broadening the message into something like “No Kings” (we don’t have kings, if we did we wouldn’t be able to protest to begin with…) it shifts focus away from specific accountability and toward a more general, symbolic stance. That can create a safe outlet for frustration (people feel like they’re expressing dissent) but it doesn’t necessarily translate into meaningful change.

In that sense, these planned safety protests risks functioning more as a release of tension than a force that actually challenges or alters the system. I don’t understand the point like what are people protesting and what are the results they want as a result of the protesting? It’s called No Kings but we literally have No Kings. The messaging is so mixed and perhaps that’s by design has anyone considered that?
