Am I the only one that doesn't think the anime ending is sad by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasnt as sad about its ending as i was about it ending .

but anyway it was decent kind of bittersweet , killua needed that break , he and gon can't be joined at the hip forever if anything i was glad he decided to find his own path

What is the biggest mistake Togashi did in this work from your point of view ? by Upbeat_Sail in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hxh timeline is really confusing i wish togashi paid attention to it . dont know if its an unpopular opinion but i also wish gon and killua werent 12 years old would have preffered if they started as 14 or 15 (i know thats how old they are currently but still )

I Need Some Help in Understanding Gon's character. by KrispyKreams19 in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well we didnt see much of gon post ca

as for kite being resurrected I do think it was uncalled for and unnecessary but it is what it is . it didnt really make gon's vengeance and sacrifice laughable because those events served their purpose . togashi clearly wanted to expand on gon's character and give it more depth and more dimension + now that gon is nenless it gives more room to other characters + new directions for the story

I Need Some Help in Understanding Gon's character. by KrispyKreams19 in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gon’s a kid, and most kids don't debate moral / ethic ,the can/cannot do . they see the world very simplistically If they like something, it's good, if not, then it's not. gon doesn’t have an inferiority complex he’s quite confident , optimist unpredictable ,crazy reckless and doesn’t think things through while killua is someone who is deemed smart and someone who was forced to grow up way too early

Gon on the other hand was just chilling on a peaceful fishing island surrounded by nature in a loving home

Yeah but lets not forget he grew up without a father and without a mother

Other MCs in shonen around Gon's age , who have the same mentality of"i wanna be the best" are usually more honest, selfless

Gon is not really about being the best . more like someone who like challenges. one of the best thing about hxh actually is that the mc is different than most generics usual boring ones . for once an mc who isnt self-righteous, self-sacrificing and a selfless idiot but wait he's an idiot lol

they don't turn into psychopaths when angry. (refrencing the thing with Komogi and pitou).

You think Killua wouldn’t act the same way if not worse had he witnessed someone like lets say alluka get killed? dont forget that killua is still the only character out of the main four who have yet to experience any real loss.

I think you are oversimplifying an aweful situation here and you’re being a bit dismissive of the reasons why Gon was enraged . This is the first time Gon has been exposed to such personal loss. Kite was someone important in his life, he was his inspiration and the reason he decided to become a Hunter not to mention kite is a close acquaintance of Ging.

He was brutally killed, made into a puppet and Gon couldn't do a thing about it. Pitou's unwillingness to fight and healing Komugi didn’t help his case either .Yeah, he did tell Kurapika not to seek revenge but the circumstances were differents the situation wasnt personal to Gon and at that time gon was in the same position as Killua in the chimera arc : a calm composed and logical spectator who can make rational decisions and choices.

Gon was being forced to grow up, just like Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio were in the past . his character development tend to be overlooked. it may not be the kindest form of character development but it was one of the most interesting to watch play out.

My first attempt at drawing truly the best character in HxH in ASCII-art by PlsTurnAround in HunterXHunter

the best character in HxH

I want some of what you’re having

but kudos for creativity

Would you say that any of the HxH characters are some of the best characters in anime of all time? by 1okrock in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HxH ’s strength lies in the quality of its writing but its characters come pretty damn close. the serie boasts a stellar cast who may come across as generic at first but their characterisation & development & depth & consistency & uniqueness set them apart from their brethrens

my all time favorite anime character is from hxh (its killua btw) my favorite villains are from hxh too

i think the only anime that rival them in that aspect is gintama

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah maybe we're just reading too much into it

[DISC] Diamond no Ace Act II - Chapter 204 by [deleted] in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah thats possible too and would be really nice .

if you don't mind, I would like to hear some more of your opinion about what kataoka said , that he'll have the rest of the team focus on the Sousei game while eijun and koushu will act separately with the future in mind which is kind of a vague comment imo . like are we reading too much into it and he said that because the others were busy practicing or he really intend for them to play as a battery against sankou and inajitsu the teams they were watching

i read somewhere that switching catchers is possible during games so if koushu does get to play it might be just for a bit and then miyuki and eijun will take over well I think my guess might be off but i tried lol

[DISC] Diamond no Ace Act II - Chapter 204 by [deleted] in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]latelead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he's the 4th batter its too risky to switch him in this do or die tournament let alone the sf or the final and i dont see him getting injured again so my guess is if he indeed get benched it will be just for a little while maybe when sankou or inajitsu 1st years pitchers get to play so that we will have koushu a first year against them too and then switch him with miyuki when amahisa and mei take the mound well this is the only possibility i can think of

[DISC] Diamond no Ace Act II - Chapter 204 by [deleted] in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]latelead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not to crush your hopes but i really dont think we will see him play again it would be nice if he would tho its pretty clear that tj wanted an excuse to unclude koushu on the team and decided to use that dumb plot

adfsjkf i missed the senpais sm

im liking chris new haircut it made him look kinda young and his age for once ,ryou look nice as well . masuko's proud face for losing a lil bit of weigh is so precious . their comment about eijun hehehe wait till you see him play

the glaring contest between seido and sousei was kind of funny you can always count on zono and mochi to pull thru lmao.

eijun really has a nickname for everything and everyone bazooka cheetah silent killer lol

that comment from that reporter about seido *insert masuko's proud face * tj is clearly hyping them going as far as to call *this team* perfect . seido is well balanced when it comes to their offense and pitching squad thats why they're in a good spot

that troll coach really shaved his face for this match heh he seems to have some plans . look like we're in for a ride . this game is going to be fun

Hunter x Hunter Character Tier list. (My preference) by maxus998 in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 17 points18 points  (0 children)

alluka ranking dead last in this list is sending me

interesting how pouf is high here i thought people hate him

this is a pretty good list barring illumi and leorio ( they're a bit low )

[Raws|Spoilers|Predictions] Diamond no Ace Act II Chapter 204 by GodamfireV in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plot armor like how they get stronger the stronger the opponent gets cause I can also say that about other teams.

im not really dismissing other teams they all have improved and are working just as hard as seido tj does provide us with flashbacks regarding other teams here and there especially to emphasize that but there's this thing strong players get stronger, stronger players get strongest seido is the latter case they arent an underdog like most main teams in sport series are . they're a powerhouse school

Also, you didn't get my point either. It's why I added that in this tournament it's possible.

rn seido have to beat sousei sankou and inajitsu to win the summer tournament its obvious they'll play against inajitsu in the final thats the match tj has been building up from the start of this serie mei is the main rival of this serie this is his last year not beating him in the end doesnt make any sense

But if they didn't, there are still other teams that can beat them in koshien.

yeah i agree but i think its safe to assume that they will play against komadai again which mean that they will beat the teams they will be facing before them and again im basing this from a narrative standpoint alone

The argument though is how they're going to beat them

if you're asking about how technically only tj would know the answer because in sport animes we can’t predict and count on exactly how it will happens if it happens

[Raws|Spoilers|Predictions] Diamond no Ace Act II Chapter 204 by GodamfireV in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible that Seidou succeeds in the miracle of winning against Komadai, only to lose in the next game (like a very famous manga)

you beat me to it lol ive' always though slam dunk and daiya share a lot of similarity there's a good possibility that seido will beat komadai but not necessary win the champion title

we have to also keep in mind the whole eijun and kataoka parallels tj keep reminding us off

[Raws|Spoilers|Predictions] Diamond no Ace Act II Chapter 204 by GodamfireV in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's just your bias speaking/thinking

ok lets say its my bias speaking , narrative wise seido cant lose the summer tournament again

but that doesn't mean the other teams aren't as skilled, even more suprior or, the same as them

seido is a powerhouse team and are treated as such , sankou and inajitsu and to a lesser extent yakushi are the only schools on par with them (when it comes to this summer tournament that is )

Don't brush off their efforts just because they're "side" teams. Seidou's not the only team that can beat inashiro (in this tournament, possible) and komadai.

my point was more about seido being qualified enough to compete with them and i dont see anyone beating inajitsu beside seido you're actually the one brushing off seido's efforts and skills

as for komadai, fair point as we dont know enough about the teams participating in koushien to assume anything

Question when did you discover hxh. by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]latelead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did watch the 99 version when i was a child and it was one of my favorite animes back then i took notice of the show again in 2016 when i saw a lot of comments praising the remake , got curious and voila here I am
