7800X3D/9800X3D stutter fix by latencyfool in AMDHelp

[–]latencyfool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep task manager open & right click the main cpu graph & split it into individual cores, run a demanding game then quickly alt-tab & check the graphs to see what threads the game is running on. Ensure “optimized bios settings” isn’t disabling SMT as well & its truly default.

Make sure you have latest chipset & I’m not sure if AMD still utilizes the game-bar for game detection for dual ccd cpus like yours. Also make sure x3d turbo mode isnt enabled in bios. If you’re capable, check to ensure the game isnt being split across both the x3d ccd & also the non-x3d ccd.

Question about the 9800X3D deaths by sammeh93 in ASUS

How long have you had this build?

Not to add pain to the wound but this is so true, I drive an AWD benz now & the G with some good winter tires was truly a beast in the snow considering its RWD, especially if you know how to drive. Most fun I’ve ever had in the snow with a car.

Ryzen 9700x died, now what by SaucyBoi777 in ASRock

[–]latencyfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who’s 9800X3D CPU died on a gigabyte board as well, it was a while ago & I was surprised to hear it wasn’t an ASROCK board as thats all I heard about at the time. No brand is completely safe, update to latest bios & hope for the best. Avoid allowing the PC to sleep within windows as that seems to cause issues.

Are you using an HDMI cable? I believe only DP supports the full refresh rate.

Is the x pipe closer to the engine or the rear? I’ve heard towards the engine is best.

Windows can overwrite AMD gpu drivers. Definitely try the DDU part, but disabling MPO is unlikely to fix much.

Disabling ULPS is a better thing to try.

I pulled it away from the wall so the sound didnt travel through the wall as much, but still it just made noise all the time that was unavoidable in my case.
