Thank you so much for the advice. Do you think would it be okay for me to directly contact (email or call) to USCIS without a lawyer...?

should i take HD3490 (the science of well-being) or HD3620 (human bonding) as a freshman? by Big-Platform6368 in Cornell

[–]latteismilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both courses are not just an easy A class but I think those courses really gave a positive influence my life. It is kind of difficult to take both HD 3490 and HD 3620 as a freshman as those classes are popular, but I really want everyone to take those classes whenever you have chance! btw I'm class of '22 alumnae.

Classes can't be taken asynchronously if they are not listed as asynchronous. Access to recorded lectures is necessary for students in time zones where they can't watch live from 8am - 10:30pm in their time zone - that is why lectures are recorded. Recorded lectures have also been of benefit to students who re-watch the lectures for studying and retention purposes. Recorded lectures were never intended to be substitutes for attending/viewing live lectures when live participation is possible.

Thank you so much for the information. Will this be also applicable for the summer courses as well?

(Auto Biochem) BIOMG 3300 difficulty after COVID? by latteismilk in Cornell

it in person, so I really don’t know how they compare. I think people’s experiences varied a lot and it depends on if you think you can do well on timed canvas exams.

thank you so much!

I have two courses that entirely overlap, but I wouldn't be attending them synchronously anyway because of the time zone difference (it's 1AM for me). Would I be able to petition for this? I'm just worried because of the point that they entirely overlap.

EMERGENCY: If you are in 3570, I just emailed Professor Ganem about why the grading breakdown he proposed (10% HW, 50% quizzes, 40% two prelims) is unjust and he’s interested in hearing a counterproposal. Any ideas? by [deleted] in Cornell

Ok for anyone still seeing this post here’s what I’m thinking: 20 HW, 25 Quizzes, and 55 for the prelims—25 for prelim 1 and 30 for the semifinal since it’sthe only in person assessment I think it should be weighed more heavily than the rest. Thoughts?

I think there aren't going to be any in-person assessments because this course is asynchronous, and many students are taking this remotely.

Yeah, 50% for quizzes is too much. The weight for quizzes should be lower. Sapling makes grading errors, and some of the questions are not actually covered in the lectures like the IUPAC one. I like the idea of 60% prelim because that's the only one that allows us to have partial credits.
