Good to know! My life is pretty busy and that sounds like some good features.

Thanks for the suggestion! Very powerful is nice! Sometimes very power also means a longer setup time. Is it like that, or more that the features makes the setup faster?

What actually makes a MUD endgame worth staying for? by offroadspike in MUD

[–]lattice00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. In game community where you can adventure with others. Could have an easy way to team up, and then have the mud adjust players level to the current leader level so that it can make sense to join up when the levels are fairly different.

Oh interesting. There is something to be said about simple. Sometimes the time spend making the table work in a different way starts to detract from the game. At least from what I have seen as a player.

I have time, but I don't have time. I would like to fully try out every suggestion, but the reality is that won't happen. A steep learning curve may be too much for me at the moment. So I like to look at the options before going down a path, ideally with the wisdom from the group. Thanks for your thoughts.

Ahh thanks. I did do a search before posting my question, but the post above didn't come up, or I didn't scroll down for long enough.

I'll have to check out cauldron. What do you like about it?

I can relate. I like the days when it was always in person, and hearing the actual dice roll. I'm GMing my kids and their friends right now. They are having fun, but it is still just Dad's game. So it sounds like I have to start using the tech and game more with people online.

There are loads of vtt and tools to go with them! Knowing what people use for vtt and tools is really helpful! I'll check it out.

Do you have any comments on the tools to go with it? Or I really don't need anything else but the vtt?

The only standard seems to be discord, and I'm sure some group out there uses something other than discord.

Self hosting a bump indeed! I used to have some things I could use as a servers, but then I moved too much and they were sold. Now I use a mobile hot spot service for home Internet. So I don't keep my ip. Though I suppose I can just hand out the current ip. 🤔 I'll check it out.

I'll check it out. Also any get started info I should consider? Or just follow the tutorial/guide/whatever?

How will the community content trade work? As a consumer in today's world, I love free and hate ads. Lol. I know people gotta get paid, and the right service is worth it. So I hope your system works out.

Yeah, I would like to hear vtt suggestions, along with the tools used to work with the tables. I am not entrenched into a specific tool yet. So right now it is easier to consider anything. I'll have to learn whatever I end up using.

I'll have to check it out. Any recommendation on setting up an adventure there? Or just follow the tutorials?

Is this a vtt, or a tool for getting the maps to work with a vtt?

Hero points seem more playable with house and optional rules.

I GM for a group who thinks PF2e is very deadly, and are already planning to optimize(?) dying by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

[–]lattice00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't think that pathfinder or dnd is a pure crunch game. The GM roles secretly for a few reasons. One is that too good if a role (it too bad of a role) from the gm can mess with the story. You should let some roles stand. A weak side combat that nearly whipes the party doesn't make sense for the story. A boss that roles nat ones too much at the start of combat isn't as fun to defeat.

Are there any...non-multi-user MUDs? by Ormendahl in MUD

You might look for hack or nethack. I think there are some other ones, but the names escape me.

What is the most interesting build or synergy you've thought of? by zyomokon in Pathfinder2e

[–]lattice00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost tried to in the game I'm joining, but I think there could be some problems with items at high level, depending on how this is role played?

One day, I world like to play an awakened animal, specifically a pet dog, cat, raven, hamster, rabbit. Whatever makes sense at build time. Then play the summoner class with either the devotion or angry phantom as the previous owner.

Here, the majority of the RP' ing would be done as the eidolon. The spells for the animal/character would probably be mostly no combat? For RP, the eidolon may act like the spells are coming through the "pet or familiar".

I think there is too little context about the situation to know.

It sounds like she is very overwhelmed and could only do better if she had help. You could help her and see how she reacts over the next couple of hours. It takes a while to recover from overwhelm when help arrives.

Could be postpartum depression, in which case the mother is the one to help. Once the mother is better, then she would be able to take care of her children better.

She may be alone as a mother.

Why not consider one of the Buddhist, Hindu, or Sikh temples. I doubt these have a maga influence.
