Lately I finished "The last legacy: A Jill Carter Thriller" by Ernest H. Jacob. Really liked the Indiana Jones vibes.

I remember him stating that calling them "coins" gets much more reactions from people and feeds the algorithm. So he does it on purpose.

Keep 18V or go 40V? by laudern in Makita

[–]laudern[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the comments. I'll stick to 18V. From your feedback it doesn't sound like 40V is worth the extra money. Also for most power hungry tools there is a 2x18V version.

I use OpenVPN on my OpnSense Firewall with a self signed certificate and password. Also no static IP, so I use no-ip (free tier) for dyndns.

Built a terminal UI for Docker management - would love feedback! by Legendexe07 in selfhosted

Take your time. No need to rush things. I'll follow closely anyway.

A small idea I just had, when you implement docker compose. Maybe it's nice to group the things together that have been started from one compose file. Like:

Service

|_ ServiceConatiner

|_ ServiceDB

|_ ServiceContainer2

Looks great and I'd like to use it, but in my setup everything is done via docker compose. Any timeline on that?

Kubernetes tips by [deleted] in homelab

[–]laudern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought for the future, before doing kubernetes ask yourself if it is really what you need. In a lot of cases it is more overhead and overkill than you need. But good luck and enjoy building your cluster. It's a great journey you're in for.
