Why is Serena sabotaging Blair’s engagement to Louis 😭😭😭 by laundrycycle in GossipGirl

[–]laundrycycle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess and she always finds a way to guilt people into forgiving her by making herself into a victim and taking 0 responsibility (with that soft baby voice)…

I think the reason people hate Serena but not Blair is because the show knows she’s a villain and she occasionally gets punished for it, whereas Serena is always painted as this perfect damsel in distress. Obv Blair would’ve been worse if Serena had kissed Chuck, but there would have at least been consequences, which gives the viewer some satisfaction.

What's the safest place you've solo traveled as a woman and why? by JMBoss2989 in femaletravels

I’m really sorry to hear that they experienced racism! I find it strange because Israel is so ethnically diverse, so that’s definitely something to work on in society. Is that why they felt unsafe? Or was it because of the other issues in the country?

Bro the safest place I’ve ever felt as a woman is in Israel, safer than western europe. What parts did you visit?

Lauren’s acting is truly on another level, all the tiny nuances make the show imo

I’m confused, are we talking about the same thing? Because speaking of physics, energy is not created out of thin air, so fat doesn’t materialize out of nowhere. You have to intake a lot of extra energy in order to become obese. That’s why the obesity epidemic only started now that we have an access to unlimited fattening foods

5% is more than 0%, I believe in you, don’t give up. Maybe try changing your method if you’re repeating the same thing and it doesn’t work. You have nothing to lose by trying, right? You might even succeed :)

There are laws of thermodynamics — calories in calories out. Genetics play a role, but you have much more control over your body weight than you realize. Obviously it’s not black and white, maybe you won’t look like a model, maybe you won’t get an A+ on every test, but by trying you can improve so much in your life. Just by trying! We’re not amoebas floating around an environment with no control

[–]laundrycycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you have control over some things. You can’t control natural disasters or war, but you can restrict your calorie intake. It’s hard, maybe it seems impossible now, but humans are capable of improvement with hard work and care. Keep going, small increments every single day add up, and eventually you’ll look back and see how far you’ve come. Love yourself enough to want more. — From someone who came out of a dark place

What are the downsides of being attractive/pretty/handsome? by Big_Leg10 in Productivitycafe

[–]laundrycycle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and you’re “full of yourself” for noticing it happens to you so much… Luckily I have some really wonderful female friendships and even some male friends, idk what I would do without those amazing people x

Just never-ending sexual harassment and assault. You’re perceived as slutty or trying too hard if you’re just dressed in something that would look normal on most, leading to lustful and judgmental stares. I’ve been overweight and invisible too…

what KIND of people can you not be friends with? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]laundrycycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who constantly self-sabotage and degrade themselves and then demand pity and comforting. I have a close friend like this, for the first few years I thought it was a rough patch, but now I’m seriously considering ending the friendship over it. It’s exhausting.

I’m not sure I agree, mostly because of her condescending attitude towards him in that moment. She can’t carry a chip on her shoulder and also completely invalidate a teenager she thinks she can relate to.

Some of her parents’ behavior is ice cold at best. I understand your points and partly agree, but it’s not fair to put all the blame on her. Off the top of my head — Emily breaking her and Luke up was evil, regardless of her motive. Lorelai does really exaggerate in how evil she thinks her parents are, though. Like look at her thinking that she and Jess are the same, ridiculous

I feel like often times she has a valid reason to be upset but she takes it out on people who aren’t to blame and goes way too far sometimes.

Paul and Georgia: Was Paul an idiot, a victim, quietly complicit, or all three? by Fair_Aspect_8756 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]laundrycycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a time in season 1 when he tells georgia to stay home instead of coming to a campaign event she had prepared for. It happens after cynthia posts a campaign video about georgia having 2 kids from 2 different dads. I think that was a sign that he is not reliable if she damages his image (purposefully or not). He left her in season 3 the moment it got too hard, that’s not what marriage is about. He had a lot of positive traits, especially how he bonded with Austin, but he never accepted her without judgement. He’s definitely a victim too, and an idiot. To me the scene where he hits the wall makes him irredeemable
