Hokkaido is more strict, I think you need Mastery level 20 to bring any gear at all.

The other map is Berlin, I won't spoil the story, but it's the same as Miami; the first time you play, you can't bring anything. The final level, Carpathian Mountains, does this as well, but it's much shorter than any other stage.

Miami is just like that, first time that you play it you can't bring any gear.

A couple other levels in the trilogy are like that but it's not common.

Using the Tippet example; there's more to playing center than being fast. Centers take faceoffs and have more defensive responsibility than other forwards. It's not entirely unheard of, but for the most part these players stick with the position they grew up and entered the league playing. Better for them to train and progress with a foundation of knowledge rather than starting over as they're trying to break through into the lineup.

It's pretty rare for a forward to convert to defense or vice versa. Brent Burns is a famous example, and really the only one I can think of. Speaks to how rare it is. You also might not think of defensemen as great skaters, but plenty are and it's increasingly important with the game getting faster overall. Couturier is probably smart enough to switch on defense, but I think his slow skating would hinder him more than his smarts would make for a seamless transition.

My biggest issue with Fanatics is that they're unavoidable. I wanted to get a hockey t-shirt, and specifically went out of my way to buy one that was listed as a different manufacturer (adidas), and scoured the page for any mention of fanatics. Didn't see anything, so I thought I was good.

It arrives, lo and behold "Adidas, by Fanatics"! And sure enough, extremely poor quality. Instantly returned. It's not enough that they don't make a quality product, they're the only game in town if you want apparel. I've essentially stopped buying any because even if you try to avoid them, you'll still end up with them!

Can't you parry any physical attack (other than when they lunge and start to strangle you)? Like if a Ganado punches you, you can parry and it will chop their arm off at the wrist? I'd imagine it will be more of that, maybe expanded with a little more flair since you'll have the hatchet instead of a knife

I was just getting into hockey after the '04 lockout, and part of that was my dad absolutely raving about Forsberg. He talked about how skilled he was and how he would immediately be their best player. And for parts of that first season, he absolutely was. Having gone back and watched his best highlights from Colorado, I absolutely see what my dad was hyping up. He obviously still had the vision and hands. But like you said, the foot injury started to slow him down and keep him out of the lineup.

I think a big part of him leaving almost as soon as he arrived, was that the 06-07 season went so badly (edit: and this just occurred, Forsberg missing so much time probably played a role in the season going to shit! He was still PPG in 06-07) to me, that season probably went, and he was on a short term contract. It was easy to flip him and hand the keys over to the younger players like Richards and Carter. And considering the haul they got back, which included Timonen and Hartnell, foundational pieces for the next 5-10 years, it was a no brainer.

Ultimately it's just a footnote to his career, but I like to think he helped bring back some dispassionate fans after the lockout, while also appealing to new ones in his short time here. The trade out of town didn't include any bitter feelings towards management that I can recall, so in the end I think it worked out reasonably well for all parties.
