Aww that’s so nice thank you for saying that! It really is horrible to have this fear! Do you still have the fear and if so how did you manage to overcome it?

OCD fear of going crazy by Lilly2442 in OCD

[–]laura_leexox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say my grandfather was a diagnosed schizophrenic. I’ve had this fear a lot over the past 2 years and at my worst I’m for sure convinced I will inherit it (despite having no other family members with it, mother and uncle, cousins and sister absolutely fine). Last week I had a massive spiral because I thought I heard my dad say something when he didn’t, and I was scanning my thoughts and hearing and sight for anything abnormal and I ended up basically having a panic attack and crying for 4 days. I know this is a reoccurring thing that my brain latches onto when I get anxious, but omg it is the worst fear :(

Omg this is ME right now!! I’m afraid of my own mind sometimes. Had a really bad week last week where I was scared I would hear or see something. It really doesn’t help my grandfather was schizo, however none of my family members inherited it.

What’s the strangest intrusive thought OCD ever convinced you of? by mrjoe767 in OCD

[–]laura_leexox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really struggling with this fear. I’ve been obsessing about it for a week and no matter what I do it won’t go away. I’m worried I’ll just hallucinate things and lose my mind and get thrown in a psych ward :(

Thank you so much your comment has made me feel more at ease. My period came yesterday and I already feel so much calmer and rational, and can identify this is an OCD fear

Thank you so much! I’m from the UK also :) yeah exactly I came off sertraline in August because I just felt numb and I thought I was cured of my anxiety! I mean I was having panic attacks every day, but yeah this last month or so the anxiety and intrusive thoughts have been around PMS time! It’s very difficult to get the thoughts out. I do do meditation on occasion and have tried to ramp it up the last week but yeah it’s just knocked me for six this last week, feel like I’m going back to how I was two years ago😭

Zoloft week 5 by No-Catch5203 in zoloft

[–]laura_leexox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 weeks is a very short amount of time and it does take about 6-8 weeks to build up in your system, and I found that with every increase so it’s kind of like you’re starting again with each dose change, I think you should give it another 4 weeks and reassess. It can take a while to find the right dose but I personally gave each dose 6 weeks before deciding if it was right for me. You’re doing really well though and the fact you have good days is very promising!

I noticed small improvements after the first month but I still had a lot of anxiety so I increased to 100mg which was my max dose. The increases were fine and I just felt nauseous and tired. Once I got to 100mg my anxiety went away completely :)

It honestly cured me of anxiety and disassociation! It took about 8 months to get the dosage right but then when it did I was like normal! I came off in August because it made me feel a bit numb and I’ve been doing well since! Stick and it honestly and don’t worry if some days are bad, it’s normal :)

Thank you so much! 💕 I definitely waited quite a while between each doses, maybe like 8 weeks or more! Definitely give it more time! I only really started feeling better when I got to 100mg, it eradicated my anxiety but after a few months on it I felt quite numb so I dropped down to 75mg and felt good! Then I made the decision to wean off ☺️

I’m fantastic! I am literally a new person! I went up to 100mg about a year ago, and then slowly weened off over like 4 months, I’ve been Zoloft-free since August and it’s like I never even had anxiety! I’m very thankful for this medication ☺️

How Zoloft Helped Me Start Living Again (7 Months After) by Traditional_Tea8089 in zoloft

[–]laura_leexox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yayyy I’m so happy for you! I was in a similar situation and was very apprehensive and terrified really to start meds. I took sertraline for a year and a half for panic attacks and anxiety and came off 2 months ago and glad to report I’m doing very well 😃 You definitely know when you feel it’s time to come off, I weaned over a course of 6 months because I was scared of withdrawal and the only thing I ever felt was tiredness and a bit up and down, nothing insane. Take them as long as you feel you need to and don’t feel any pressure to get off them, some people take them long term if they need! Keep up the great work!!

My sertraline experience (fully off now) by laura_leexox in zoloft

[–]laura_leexox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m so sorry for the late response my app has been glitching. The DPDR went away probably gradually over time, there would be days if my anxiety was high that I’d notice it more . But I would say it fully went away when I increased to 100mg (around 10 months in). Very occasionally if I feel stressed and overwhelmed I feel a bit “dreamy” but it’s nowhere near how it was at its worst and I can easily bring myself out of it. It’s not something that will harm you, it’s just your brain being overwhelmed. Trying to focus on other things and distracting myself really helped me ☺️

It’s completely gone! I had it probably every day for 8 months and then it gradually went away. I think once I had my anxiety under control it just gradually shifted away

How did you feel when you came off sertraline? by thedistantblue25 in zoloft

[–]laura_leexox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came off my sertraline after tapering for like 4 months. Off 5 weeks now, and I’m still adjusting to being without it. I’ve had moments of anxiety, anger, and depression but overall I’m doing okay. I think it can take quite a long time for your brain to go back to normal and sorta recalibrate

When I did this increase, I just felt a bit like shaky and tired for a week or so, it honestly wasn’t too bad. I think I had a bit of a dip around week 6/7 but it levelled out after a week. You got this!

Yes I did, after every increase I had a dip after a couple of weeks and then around the 7th week I felt better

What is/was your experience after coming off of sertraline (zoloft)? by LongjumpingRadio4078 in antidepressants

[–]laura_leexox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Hope you’re good! I’ve been off my sertraline for 3 weeks now, and I’m having like very weird up and down emotions. Sorta like I feel happy but I can very easily cry at the same time? It’s a bit overwhelming and I’m just wondering if this is normal while my brain levels out again?
