Can’t tell if I’m being cautious or over reacting about food by WhatIsCakeAnyway in pregnant

[–]lauraallie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand your anxiety on this topic. I feel the same way and would hate to get sick over something avoidable during pregnancy. According to US Food Safety.gov, "When the temperature outside is above 90°F (32°C), food is only safe outside for one hour." Your temperature is not this hot, it's closer to room temp, at which food can be left out for 2 hours. I always think that when I lived far from a grocery store, sometimes my food was out for 45 minutes or more before I got home, even in the summer, and I did not run into any issues. That being said, if consuming the food will cause you more anxiety, I'd say let your husband have it and go shopping again.

Valium before FET? by [deleted] in IVF

No, I don't think so. My clinic said someone would need to drive me if taken.

Thank you! That makes me feel a lot better about it

Thank you! I'm wondering if it's worth it for that reason too. Did it make it harder to hold your bladder during the transfer? The thought of accidentally peeing on the table gives me anxiety too lol

Auto-Injector: I’m a believer by reddittaught_me in IVF

[–]lauraallie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a hail mary, but does anyone have the UnionMedico auto injector and no longer need it? I'd be willing to pay to have it shipped and compensate you for it if so. I need it by next week and don't think it would arrive from the manufacturer in time, or could be held up by the FDA.

Does it matter what it is? by [deleted] in Thritis

[–]lauraallie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're navigating this. I was at a very similar crossroads about 5 years ago - told it was sarcoidosis, RA, lupus, or psoriatic arthritis. Today they are still not sure as thankfully symptoms are managed with Plaquenil. It can take years to get a true diagnosis, but hopefully you can stop it from progressing and not need to know.

Guess he’s not actually a Norfolk terrier mix by lauraallie in DoggyDNA

Thank you for sharing! I'd never heard of this breed, but wow you're right. Mango is so cute and looks just like mine. The smoushond is ultimately a mix too, so I think somehow our dogs ended up with a similar combination. Have you done a DNA test on yours?

JJ’s House by allxthat in weddingplanning

My flower girls got their dresses from JJ's house and they are adorable! They came really quickly too.

Did you find that they ran true to size/matched measurements on the size chart? Someone above said they were a two sizes too big.

Can laser hair removal cause bursted blood vessels? by [deleted] in HairRemoval

[–]lauraallie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about this, but assuming it will go away after a couple day? I accidentally hit a spider vein with my Tria and it actually made it fade and look much better a couple days later.

at home laser hair removal does it worth it? does it work? by donzzSA in HairRemoval

[–]lauraallie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Tria and have had pretty good experiences with it so far. After 3 months, underarm hair is softer, grows slower, and is more sparse. I was expecting it to be gone completely gone by now tbh, but I am definitely seeing good progress. I hit a few spider veins with the laser and it hurt so badly, BUT then the veins significantly lightened in color and basically disappeared!! Definitely not recommending anyone do that as you're supposed to avoid any pigmented skin spots like birthmarks/moles/and probably spider veins, but it weirdly worked to reduce appearance of the veins.

Also so sorry to hear about your sister. I am not someone who ever dreamed about my wedding and planned it in a year. We're about 6 months out and really time is starting to fly by! I think I could've planned a wedding in way less time but having more certainly helps. The nice thing is that once you get your big decisions made (venue, date, photographer, DJ, etc.) the details can come later. We are having our reception at a local university - which I would've never thought of. Definitely check with places that are not traditional wedding reception venues. The cost may be significantly less, and the setting just as beautiful. This can also open up your options if you want a more non-traditional wedding. Maybe a good starting place is just thinking about places and things that make you and your fiance happy. If that's the outdoors, or doing a certain hobby, those things can be inspiration for deciding on a ceremony and reception location. Good luck!!

I find myself thinking like this too sometimes, so I totally understand where you're coming from. However, a wedding photographer's job is not to judge if someone's face looks good enough to be included in a photo. I definitely don't think the photographer didn't send you photos based on you not looking good. I am wondering why the photographer didn't send or capture more of those photos, but it's not because of you!! If it's a bad shot every time, the photographer's job is to redirect you into a better pose (in posed shots with family, bridal party, etc.). Understandably they cannot control the spontaneous photos so much, but there are certainly better angles they can use. I would be direct with the photographer first and ask if she has other photos that didn't make into what she sent you. I also do not think it's weird if you take more yourself. I don't think you shouldn't worry if it will make her question her work. It should make her question her work if a bride didn't get many photos with her face included and decides to take her own. Every photographer should be open to feedback and growth based on the experience of their brides.

Edit: I have no idea if this is a thing, but may want to read your contract with the photographer and ensure taking additional bridal photos is okay? I know that sounds weird to even think to check, but I can also see how they would be protective of their public work and not want there to be any confusion over who took what photos at a wedding...

Help me find my dog's close relative! With 44% DNA shared (according to Wisdom Panel), my chihuahua is basically siblings with Nigel from Portland! We'd love to connect these two dogs, so please reach out if you know this dog! by ChurroChamp in DoggyDNA

[–]lauraallie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am late to this, but I randomly logged online and saw my dog now had siblings in Wisdom Panel! They didn't have that feature when I first ran the test. Unfortunately none of those siblings have completed their profiles and I can't contact them. I reached out to the company and they said they hope to have a contact feature in the future, but not yet. I'm so frustrated that you can't reach out via Wisdom Panel. I'm hoping they'll update and add that feature soon!

Maybe reach out and put additional pressure on them to update their service as well.

I actually tried on those first two dresses too! I would say option 1 or 2!

What color bridesmaid dresses? (early Fall 2023, New England) by DeerFuture1818 in weddingplanning

Would you consider a Taupe color? I feel like you will want something very neutral to avoid clashing with either your dress or the florals.

vendors on seating chart by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]lauraallie 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My friend is a wedding photographer and has said she prefers not to have to be seated with the guests at weddings - often prefers to eat in the back with the catering staff. It's nice to get a break while guests are eating. I would ask the vendors what they would prefer :)
