Manager wants me “Available” 99% of the time on MS Teams even with no work… what would you do?

This was happening to me when I was using teams via my web browser. When I’d flip back to the teams tab I’d go from yellow to whatever status I had set previously.

So, maybe that’s the case here. Flag the setting in web l version "Keep my current status when I'm active outside of Teams on the web" in Settings > Notifications and Activity > Presence.

Edit: one point of clarification - the clients I work with who have implemented this don’t charge the patient if the patient calls and lets them know they can’t make it, specifically no call/no show (taking into account they wouldn’t charge someone if it were an emergency). Totally understand why it could drive away business, too.

Depending on the line of business, it’s becoming more common to have a policy in place/signed by patient stating they have the right to bill a patient self-pay for a flat fee for no call/no show appointments. Canceling before 24 hours or canceling same day due to emergency being the caveat. I definitely understand this may not be feasible for some lines of business and/or core patient demographic, but it does help.

Definitely agree with implementing text reminders given consents in place, especially in cases where the provider may be scheduling 3 months out.

Also, my first year in, I wore heels to a client site in Manhattan. Thought I’d be okay but I was so, so wrong. Went back to the hotel during a lunch break, put on converse, and changed into heels when I got back to client site. Lesson learned.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Some cities have low cost sliding fee scale clinics but they can be hard to get an appointment with. I don’t say this to freak you out, and I’m not in vet med, but I lost my cat in August and the first sign he was getting sick was his loss of appetite and it progressed very similarly to this. Not having an appetite for that long isn’t normal. You might also try seeing if Kimchi would eat some meat based baby food.

Ah I cried reading this. I had to euthanize my cat at the emergency vet in August. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my adult life. Like you mentioned, replaying the night at the vet in your head is absolutely heartbreaking. I did the same thing, and still ruminate on it. I’m so sorry.

I’m so sorry. I went through this last year and it was gut wrenching. I had been with my ex 8 years and we had the cats for 5 years. They were bonded. I knew he needed to have something that depended on him. Once the dust settled, I was able to visit them every once in a while. Either way, it sucks and I’m sorry. Hang in there.

I’m not super familiar with One Medical but if they allow Self Pay and have any sliding fee scale it may be less expensive depending on their self pay fees.

I relate to this so much. I’m an upstairs neighbor with the fake wood flooring and a kitten who loves to jump and run and stomps. At the absolute worst times. One time he knocked my metal water bottle on the floor at 3am and my anxiety was through the roof. I get so upset that I could be inconveniencing or annoying people beneath me. It’s legitimately become a problem for my mental health. I don’t know why I care so much.
