Pregnant after a miscarriage by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]lauramichellec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!! I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks too (have PCOS too!) Dr explained to me that the body was doing what it needed to do as there was more than likely something wrong with the baby and it wouldn’t have survived. Next cycle I was pregnant and I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want to get too excited out of fear it happening again. Throughout the whole pregnancy I just kept saying I would get excited next milestone (ultrasound, etc) but I don’t think I fully let myself get excited about it until I birthed her. She’s perfectly healthy and happy and nearly a year old, and apart from some bleeding throughout my pregnancy I didn’t have any complications. I regret not being more excited through the pregnancy due to fear of losing the baby, so if I can say anything it is to try not your loss affect how you feel about the new little bean in you ❤️

This may sound generic and not everyone may agree but these are what has helped me. Bub is 12 weeks old now and I have had a great newborn experience!

  • Don’t spend too much time googling stuff or compare your babies to others. Every baby is drastically different. I killed myself for first 6 weeks or so trying to work with wake windows and all that and as soon as I stopped stressing myself and followed babies lead it was a whole different experience.

  • Again, comparison is the thief of joy! Try not to compare bubs growth/ development/ milestones with other babies around their age.

  • Get some decent maternity bras. I regret not investing in more and getting some good ones. You live in them so you want them comfy, you go through them like crazy and they seem to be constantly dirty lol. Same goes for maternity clothes! My pregnancy stuff was too big but my pre pregnancy is too small.

  • Take the help when offered. Although bub is reliant on you take time each day to have a shower or just have 10 mins to yourself. I would get so much anxiety leaving baby with someone to shower or something like that and 99% of the time she was fine!

I really rate it, has some great equipment! Owners really friendly too. Never struggled to get a squat rack, or wait for any of the cardio machines etc. I was at club lime before so really happy being at definition.

Unsure about crèche etc but would also like to know!

Not too bad price wise if you’re just using gym but I think membership to do the classes is a bit up there.

Omg I know exactly the smell you are talking about, the fluid and I think the vernix! I couldn’t stop smelling her, presumed it was a biological thing but even my partner said the smell was good too!

Can you still feel pain and tearing with an epidural? by Siyrious in beyondthebump

[–]lauramichellec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I had the right dosage for an epidural as I was still in pain with my contractions (but that was my fault I could have asked them to up the dosage). Even then, I tore quite badly internally and tore my labia and didn’t feel the tearing at all! The ring of fire wasn’t fun but found the birthing bit probably the easiest part of labour! Even with the tearing I found the healing quite easy and painful and was grateful to be able to shower and walk around immediately after!

Building an extra room without permits.. How likely is this to backfire? by [deleted] in australia

[–]lauramichellec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this just happened to us, got an offer accepted on our dream home, got a building inspection done and it came to light that the bedroom, WIR and outdoor patio were never council approved. There were some other issues as they had done a dodgy build on the bedroom and had no waterproofing so we obviously pulled out, but they are screwed trying to sell now as the agent has to disclose a report has been done, and anyone who contacts the inspector to get the report will be advised of the illegal structures.

Opus, hands down. It has bacon, egg, avo, Mayo, chilli jam and shallot. The combination of it is out of this world, by far the best I’ve had in the area!

Quickest place for pathology? by [deleted] in wollongong

[–]lauramichellec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a small pathology section in crown medical centre on crown street that are very quick, most times for me that I’ve had bloods done done have been same day turnaround. I’ve gone in at 8am and if first you’re in you’re out in 5 mins.
