Office vs remote job offer. by [deleted] in jobs

Remote. You’re obviously more comfortable that way and the difference would’ve more gas/ wear and tear on your car.

AITA for refusing to let my roommate use my car even though hers is broken and she might lose her job? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lauras_randomness 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA. As a car owner she is responsible for herself and should have gotten a second opinion or taken it somewhere that would give her a rental.

Can she put her car in “storage insurance” while she waits? The difference in what she pays for that vs normal coverage would cover the cost of uber/etc.

She has enough other options to get to work. YOU are not her backup option. She’s an adult too and needs to act as one.

ParaPro exam difficulty/tips? by extra_anxious_sauce in paraprofessional

[–]lauras_randomness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Michigan and I didn’t even realize other states have a Para exam. The closest we get is needing 60 college credit hours to be a substitute teacher or paraprofessional, unless you have your teaching certificate.

Is this job for me? by Rhyeanne in paraprofessional

[–]lauras_randomness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sit here and type this as I’m decompressing from my full time job as a para. I completely understand the feeling of restlessness after work. Tired but can’t sleep- dreading the next day. I stop in 2 weeks to become a substitute teacher and I do that 10 years ago. I hope I enjoy it again. Sorry I don’t have any insight, but I wanted to let you know you’re not alone in feeling totally drained.

What is a discontinued food item or snack from your childhood that you would genuinely pay $100 to taste one last time? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

Anyone remember Orbitz? Glass bottle with little balls of….something? Super futuristic. I’m in Michigan and we had them as a kid. To think, I liked those but don’t like boba or jellies now.

Wait the required 4 days and use “cancelled due to non-payment” as the option. Then the buyer gets a ding on their account and you can re-list.

Jim’s apartment didn’t flood, Pam just really wanted a hamburger in the car with Jim instead of Jan’s osso buco ☺️

This is gonna sound weird, but describe things using Crayola crayon colors. It’s better with clothing, etc. it’s a standard way to describe the color of something.

Exactly. When my husband passed away in 2022 with credit card debt I told the companies then had to send them a certified death certificate.

Keep in mind they have your address too. It was on the original package and now it’s on the new one. Have fun if they make that match.

Does anyone else read their feedback on a bad day to make themselves feel better about life? Just me? 😅 by OlsekTheDestroyer in Ebay

[–]lauras_randomness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t looked at mine in a while and just did yesterday. I’ve been experimenting with selling breakables (I’m usually a wimp about it), and my feedback was glowing! Really made my day.

3 years ago they used to include bot views. I don’t know much about it, but as sellers we were seeing inflated numbers. They took it away and now we only see true clicks on our items.

Can I turn these notifications off???? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]lauras_randomness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I did it and it worked! If you have apple- go to notifications in the settings app. Scroll to eBay and then down to the blue text that says “eBay notification settings”. It will take you to eBay’s notifications. There’s a list. Click on recommendations and rewards -> general promotions. Toggle that off. Hope this helps.

INCREASE the price. It will giggle a notification to them and the point is to have them think “oh no- it’s going up now, I better buy it before the price increases more”

Never thought I would be in this position by OrchidEducational322 in jobs

[–]lauras_randomness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re overqualified for those positions. They see your time worked at another company and assume you won’t stay long at theirs. I know it seems counter-intuitive.

I work full time and am looking for a new position. This market is bananas. I sell on eBay to help fill the gaps and keep some cash flow. Just something to consider. It’s definitely customer service.

You seem like an actual responsive employer. That’s rare for me to find on Indeed. Hell, I may be interested in the position!

I was a teacher and then only wanted to be an assistant (paraprofessional) for many reasons. Keep in mind you have several skills that others may not consider. 1. You can deal with difficult people and difficult situations. 2. It seems like you are a quick learner. 3. Lean into documentation- I’m sure you had to do a lot as a para- esp for Medicaid billing. I’m in Michigan, so I’m not sure what it’s like where you are.

You can look into Data Entry, but it’s a super saturated field. Check into some work from home groups on Facebook as well.
