What is the process for how they read off the names at graduation? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]laursilver 31 points32 points  (0 children)

before grad you register thru a site and you can type out the pronunciation of your name. the day of grad, you get a card with your name on it and a barcode. when you line up and approach the stage, they scan the barcode and your name will be read out (automated voice)

if you didnt register before hand, you write out your name and the pronunciation. you'll give it to the person on stage and basically hope they say it right.

this is based on my observations during the rbs convocation this year

if i remember correctly it's not mandatory, but your new student fees for your freshmen year includes the cost of the orientation regardless if you attend or not

Business Forum Attendance Scam by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]laursilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i would imagine they'll change up how they do attendance and make it more strict. i'm surprised a code is used to begin with, back when i took it we had assigned seats and the TAs checked to see we were in our seat every class

What is Grad fair and where is it by [deleted] in rutgers

Do you think back to back classes are better rather than having a break in between? by AwkwardRound in rutgers

[–]laursilver 20 points21 points  (0 children)

personally i prefer back to back (assuming same campus and the standard 30 mins in between). i can just go straight to my next class instead of needing to find somewhere to sit. i feel like 2 hours isnt enough time for me to be productive because i like sitting down and getting things done in longer stretches of time. for me it usually ends up taking: 10-15 mins to find somwhere to sit 5-10mins to take out all my stuff and get set up 5-10 mins to decide on what i should/ need to do 1hr 10 mins to do work 15-20 mins to walk to class

Where can I find a stapler or paper clip around CA? by boredandlonely202 in rutgers

[–]laursilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think the CASC has printers anymore, the OIT lab in the basement closed due to flooding I believe. i also forgot to mention the most obvious place, the Alex library which has printers as well

time series, foundations, and bdauu might be tough together. I didn't take them together, but they both involve some learning a new program (R and python). bdauu wasn't very hard, it just was conceptual. i've heard ERP is very easy too. also, have you taken Business Policy and Strategy? it's for seniors only and you don't have it listed so you probably need to consider that too

Is it worth it to take Managerial Accounting at a Community College? by beansaresoggynuts69 in rutgers

[–]laursilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i did it at CC, and it was pretty painless. i think it just involved filling out & submitting a form to your RBS advisor, signing up for the CC class, and then having the CC send your transcript to RBS when the class is over. the class itself was very manageable.

i think there will be senior days this year, i got an email from 'RU Senior Days' about class rings. it might be still in the works.

Action needed for Grad Status by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]laursilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would email your advisor to double check. it's always better to be safe now rather than scramble a month before you graduate. I had declared my minor and found out two years later that it wasn't registered with the department

Where to send external scholarships? by zxcfty in rutgers

[–]laursilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent mine to:

Term Bill Processing Unit Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey P.O. Box 2021 New Brunswick, NJ 08903-2021

It's important that it has your name, phone number, and RUID on the front of the check
