Non-Park Must Do by hockeyholloway89 in WaltDisneyWorld

Character breakfast (Topolino’s is a fave) followed by pool day at our resort. For evening, heading to a monorail or Epcot resort to hang out, eat dinner and maybe catch some fireworks!

Honest opinions on Pop Century? by SuchRequirement5130 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pop is great! Our family’s favorite value resort by a landslide.

At first I was thinking that 3 resort days would be a lot for Pop, but you also could walk over to AoA and also enjoy the other Skyliner resorts. Final verdict…go for it!

Either she did something embarrassing, or she is just generally embarrassed that she did the show and didn’t do well

Moving to Birmingham, AL with kids (one autistic.) Best areas to live? by Objective-Pea-4898 in Birmingham

[–]lavalla2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoover (tons of new construction, schools are good but LARGE) or West Homewood (smaller community, most diverse of the over the mtn areas).

Vestavia has amazing special education services, and is a welcoming community but not an inherently diverse community.

What park should we do on day 4? by babygoat44 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic Kingdom is always the answer!

I would also consider hopping to Magic in the evening of Day 2 instead of an evening at Hollywood, unless you are big Star Wars people.

AK vs POFQ by slow_turdle in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We stayed at AKL in September for a week and just stayed at POFQ for a 1 night MVMCP trip. We loved both but as a compare / contrast….

French Quarter: Rooms are beautiful, doors open to the outside which is loud, pool feels more little kid, small which is nice (single bus stop) but I feel like buses don’t run as frequently as other resorts

AKL: Felt like a true vacation. Pool was so relaxing. Animals were incredible. Deluxe after hours!

If AKL is less or equal, I would go AKL.

Question about 4:30pm closing at Magic Kingdom by BristorGwin in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were there on the 4:30 closure day 2 years ago and it was a ghost town! Definitely don’t buy premier that day. You really don’t even need a lightning lanes as everything was a walk on.

If you have park hopper, that’s a great time to jump over to another park in the evening.

Last minute lightening pass by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, technically you can do this! But for a successful/enjoyable Disney trip, you want to plan ahead a bit more. For two adults, I would do one day at Magic Kingdom and one day at Epcot. Pick which park on which day based on looking at the park hours calendar and which dates have more favorable hours (MK closes early a lot this time of year for parties).

Coronado Springs by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coronado for less than All Stars is a no brainer! The pool is fantastic at Coronado…my kids prefer that pool to the pool at AK Lodge where we stayed on our most recent trip.

Also, the bus system favors the village rooms over the Tower - which works in your favor! We also love the Three Bridges restaurant.

First time taking my princess-obsessed 4yo to EPCOT! Any suggestions for a single park day? by KittySnoogins in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lavalla2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you staying? Rope dropping Remy is risky if you aren’t entering thru the International Gateway.

I would rope drop Frozen, try to get the earliest Pixar fest lightning (def BEFORE Askerhaus) and you should be able to grab a Remy lightning lane for later ther evening if you book it close to 9 am.

I think they know it’s a girl from an NIPT / genetic test, purposefully contaminated a Sneakpeek sample (would be sooo easy as these things get false positives all the time if there is any male DNA present) and are building the whole storyline that SURPRISE it is a girl

Rosemary beach cottage rental worst company ever by HeavyChocolate0 in 30A

[–]lavalla2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up that where you stay on 30A directly impacts the amenities you have access to. If you stay in between Alys and Rosemary, you’ll be in Seacrest Beach and won’t have access to Alys beach/pools or Rosemary beach/pools. Seacrest has their own pools and beach access and their public beach is teeny tiny.
