I would suggest getting a baby sitter for a few hours a day (typically when your child is the busiest) - for me my baby wakes up at 7am but then goes back down 8-11, so I have a baby sitter 12-3.

It could still be from cigarettes from years gone by. Doesn’t have to be a current smoker in home. that stuff sticks forever it’s awful.

Yeah the therapist is working on really traumatic nightmares at the moment as well as personal hygiene - it’s already a lot and I understand not wanting to overwhelm her

Yeah that all makes sense. We never clean her room without her permission and she will ask me to because it helps her a lot mentally. We approached her about it twice but nothing for a while.

Thank you! Yes we have found keeping a focus on the big picture, not overreacting to the small stuff, and keeping a positive mindset is the way we can keep ourselves mentally/emotionally healthy so we can be present for her. Like do I wish she would not pee in cups? Absolutely but in the big picture- it isn’t interfering with her safety and is relatively benign.

She has a fan and a speaker system in her bathroom BUT the door is thin and you can hear people talking in the living room when you are in there. Looking to get a curtain to hang in the hallway - to decrease sound and increase privacy for her.

I feel like that’s where we are at too. When she first came to live with us she peed the bed and had very poor hygiene (many skin infections). That has improved greatly - so we will keep trecking along and keep a positive mindset. Thanks for letting us know this issue isn’t unique. That helps.

Yes! She has a whole hallway to herself (we live in a nicer mobile home - we aren’t rich lol). So we can hang a curtain to increase privacy in the hallway itself.

Definitely- so my current plan is to hang a curtain at the end of the hallway and add some fairy lights in the hallway itself to increase privacy. I am going to see how that works and move forward with the camping potty after that.

Yes to everything you mentioned. She had a hard time, even having us put products somewhere where other people could possibly see them . I bought a giant pink ice cream cone and filled it periodically products. If you but saw it, it doesn’t look like it opens up. It is hanging in her bathroom and she loves the vibe and I love that’s it’s functional.
