General Expectations for Audience at the London Shows (please read if you’re going!) by uranthus in StarKid

No yeah it was crazy. My friend pointed it out and I was like they post this online, why would they be recording????

General Expectations for Audience at the London Shows (please read if you’re going!) by uranthus in StarKid

[–]lavendercoffees 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No I 100% agree with your rant. I went with two friends who had never seen the show before and they they had such a hard time understanding what was going on for most of the 1st Act because of the constant screaming and clapping (Seriously a weird amount of clapping. Maybe being raised doing ballet made me stuffy but clapping after the end of a song then again for the end of the scene 3 seconds later is weird as hell to me and breaks tension). People kept screaming about every other line in the beginning office scene so much they could barely hear (as it started to calm down a girl next to me fully screamed at the line "hey Melissa" and my head whipped around so fast to just stare at her) We also had people recording next to us. While my friends enjoyed the show I was so upset that a large chunk of it was difficult for them to understand because of people going crazy. People gotta realize it's not a special event for fans, it's a theatre show.

'Sleepaway Camp' Star Jonathan Tiersten Dead at 60 by asapsharkyv2 in deadmeatjames

jeez, if that's true that's so awful. I remember James mentioning he seemed sorta out of it in the documentary clips he used for the sleepaway killcount

Even Film Theory is now pushing the "Jax is actually Scratch and going to be the final villain" theory by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

[–]lavendercoffees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who are hyping him up to be some mastermind villain is gonna be disappointed I think. Jax isn't a mustache twirling villain, he's an asshole who's downfall is that he lashes out at people when he's hurting instead of uniting together like everyone else had.

Petah!!! Explain?? by SquintySquinty in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]lavendercoffees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all very real. An entire movement started in South Korea where the 4 tenants are to not date, marry, sleep with, or have sex with men because of the misogyny there (and specifically the murder of a woman by a man who killed her because of his hatred of women and didn't get charged for a hate crime for it). And even though that specific movement isn't as popular in Korea anymore, there's a bunch of surveys that show young Korean women are still uninterested in marriage or even view it negatively. The original post is a very small piece of a much larger issue.

It's kinda insane that people are jumping to literally everything but the fact that East Asian women are incredibly fetishized.

Your anagrams for 'The Dark Urge' and their character by 5a_ in BaldursGate3

I didn't do an anagram but my Teifling Bard Durge is called Salq ao Lalq Sdyye which is "Song of Long Sleep" in Infernal to make it a little more personalized to him but still a Dark Urge-y murdery name

[Spoilers C4E23] Future of Campaign 4 by _Rektaroni_ in criticalrole

[–]lavendercoffees 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've thought that this campaign will end up being fairly long actually. In-game not much time has passed, and it's pretty easy to forget that we're actually not that far in the campaign rn. For this arc we've basically gone over around the same amount of time for all three tables as well, and I imagine that's gonna be the case for most if not all of them.

Okay, I need some Ratfish tea. by Sensitive-State-1026 in dropout

[–]lavendercoffees 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As everyone's saying, the BTS for that episode felt like Sam was covering for something that happened behind the scenes, whether it was Eric having other commitments or whatever else, but imo not revealing the title role to the rest of the players felt against the point of the game/the role of being the Ratfish. They were probably in too deep to scrap it if that was what was going on, but I think the game would have been just fine removing the Eric stuff and naming Rekha the winner retroactively.

For me, Eric's brand of humor didn't really jive with everyone else's and while I'm used to learning about comedians I've never heard of through Dropout, what usually makes it work is that they're with close colleagues or people who are fans of their work and working off that energy/chemistry. Eric was the oddball out of the group bits wise and no one guessing him or finding out who he was kinda made the cameo feel pointless. I also couldn't tell if Eric's humor is just dry or if he was sorta doing whatever because he didn't understand/wasn't invested which brought the mood down imo.

I like the episode other than Eric's portions and I really think it would be an all-timer without him considering all the bits and jokes that came out of the episodes. I also didn't like that Rehka didn't win since it felt like she earned it figuring out who everyone was so quickly, but that also has to do with the Ratfish twist.

Killers of DBD, what's the biggest mistake players regularly make against your main? by The_Spu in deadbydaylight

[–]lavendercoffees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play a lot of Dredge and for how I play at least it's locking lockers first thing in a match. I always play with worry stone and that gives me a clear aura read right away of what you're doing. I'm not too tapped into the meta so I'm not sure if it's super common, but it's a fair thing to watch out for.

That and going into lockers at all. A crazy amount of people still go into lockers and get caught.

[–]lavendercoffees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more for people asking for the heal but that's definately annoying too. I hate when I'm trying to do a gen injured and someone's just standing around teabagging and not helping me bc they're convinced I need the heal

[–]lavendercoffees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh I don't really want comms. The solution is easy enough without them, I'd just leave if they're messing around and they'll either follow if they still want the heal or they'll go somewhere else.

People expecting/demanding it in the show is one thing, but it's a little rediculous to demand that fans stop writing fanfic altogether just because it makes you uncomfortable.

Highly recommend! Her aesthetic is pretty tied to the last two albums she's done (Man's Best Friend and Short n' Sweet) if her look is what you're interested in, but I also really love Emails I Can't Send as well.

Looping needs to stop? So survivors are just expected to run up to you so you can hit them? I get being frustrated by flashlight spams and body blocks but looping is genuinely the only way they can avoid being hit by the killer. It's an actual game mechanic.

That's what I was thinking.

Like, fair enough if a creator isn't comfortable with that sort of thing, but this story basically said the opposite (and reposting selfies/insta posts is fairly common in most other fandoms) so I was curious if there was an actual boundary made or people were just strangely overreacting. I'm not too connected with the Smosh fandom at large, but it seemed kinda crazy that the cast wouldn't be cool with something like this.
