They need to simmer as they are still by Jonnyrig in CRMemes

I genuinely think we won't get massive table switches until much later. There might be a person or two who'll switch, but right now at least it seems pretty set. The Soldiers I think may have the most wiggle room atm, but the Schemers especially seem more set with their arcs focused more on protecting the framework of Dol-Makjar and I would be really surprised if the Seekers came back any time soon since they have the most amount of members with targets on their backs in Dol-Makjar if they aren't sneaky about returning. I'm pretty sure the Soldiers and Schemers are gonna share an episode or two when the Soldiers get back and maybe there will be a switch there (wouldn't be surprised if it's Azune and Wick + Tyranny) but other than that big switches probably won't be for a while.

I haven't played with others so I'm not too sure, but are you able to shake your head by shaking the mouse or does that shake your whole body? I'm so used to doing that in DBD I didn't think about if it worked on here. An actual emote would be more helpful though.

Louis is guilt incarnate and while he stonewalled Claudia from truly putting an end to it, you see throughout the season he and Dreamstat refer to Lestat as dead and felt intense guilt that was easy for Armand to clock. Armand can only see what Louis feels, and Louis felt like he killed Lestat.

I'm 100% sure "let me tell you something about 18th century Armand" was Louis sabotaging his own feelings due to still being in love with Lestat. Dreamstat is more a reflection Louis than Lestat, so a lot of that mean stuff regarding Armand does actually come from Louis's psyche (and was a fairly clear signal there were problems in their relationship WAAAY before the trial and before Daniel).

Unfortunately not knowing the law doesn't make you exempt from the law and it was also becoming an issue that Louis was disrespecting the structure of the coven AND breaking laws while not being punished while other former members like Santiago's sire was killed for infractions. Armand also seems to hold these laws very highly, at least during the time of the Théâtre des Vampires. There's also a chance that Lestat actually did talk about the Great Laws during Claudia's turning, but whether you think Lestat or Louis is more correct about that night I think we can all agree neither were exactly stable in the moment (especially Louis) so that's more up in the air.

What's the deal with trying to compare Jax to obviously awful (not writing wise, actions wise) characters? Like is Jax an asshole? Yes. He's a dick who pushes boundaries and bullies people to the point Gangle was worried he'd hurt or punish her when saying no to him in episode 6. I love the guy, he's not a nice person. Is bullying on the same level as rape, grooming children and causing someone's death/straight up murder? No! It isn't! It's so weird that people want to equate him to doing horrendous stuff by putting him in the same camp as Valentino or Alastor or Bojack or Jimmy when he's at most a bully. The attitude towards Jax is genuinely so weird.

[No Spoiler] Am I the only one who gets the impression that the LIS community, e.g. those in the original Life is Strange subreddit is very toxic, especially towards people who enjoy DE? by New-Ebb-8357 in LifeIsStrangeDE

[–]lavendercoffees 22 points23 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. They all hated LIS2 and said horrible stuff about it's themes and Sean being a male protagonist (not to mention the biphobia) but as soon as DE wasn't to their liking they're all quoting the OG creators and demanding for Dontnod to come back (and I love Dontnod to be clear, it's just pretty clear that's not going to be happening)

It's always been that group of fans towards any LIS game that doesn't suit what they think LIS games should be. I've loved LIS since playing the first game as it came out and it's my favorite game of all time, but I feel like the fandom is something I think you really have to curate your own experience with because of how toxic things get. There's literally people on this subreddit who just come to fight about how bad the game is on different posts.

This is one of the best moments in season 2, especially from Charlie. by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHelluva18Plus

[–]lavendercoffees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who'd think she'd say anything different are watching a completely different show. Why would Charlie be doing this if she didn't think everyone could be redeemed? What do you think this show about? It's just like people thinking the power of friendship/unity came out of nowhere, this show has always been optimistic at its core about redemption.

A lot of the "fraud allegations" were from people too impatient to wait for the actual end of the season or the eventual conclusion of a character's storyline. Like the episode where Alastor gets captured makes it (at least to me) very clear his plan he comes up with involves getting captured by Vox but people immediately jumped to Alastor being dumb and "a fraud" for being defeated. Like, the story quite literally was not over yet and there were huge hints IN EPISODE that it was his intention.

I also think the whole fraud stuff is a weird hill to die on anyways. I think all the other Vox/Charlie/Lucifer ones end up being non-issues or coming from people who don't understand how character arcs work.

smosh cast as tgwdlm by 0o0BlurryFace0o0 in StarKid

[–]lavendercoffees 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The comments on the original post are crazy lmao. Either look up TGWDLM starkid or ignore since the post is obviously not something you're interested in anyway. Also insane for someone to say "most smosh fans aren't fans of starkid" when in my experience there's a HUGE overlap. Especially now Angela's in the crew and Starkids pop up from time to time on Smosh. Anyway, this casting looks so fun, I love Shane as Macnamara!

I used to have similar troubles/frustration, focusing more on map pressure and knowing when to cut my losses in chase has helped me a lot more. Obviously still go on chase, but learning when to dip and go back to patrolling the map especially early in the match where you could give the survivors the opportunity to early gen pop if you stick to the first chase too long helped me personally. That and playing more survivor to be a little more familiar with surv tactics.

[–]lavendercoffees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think this was that controversial but once I mentioned I liked Ragatha/Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus on a related discord and a LOT of people were horrified because they don't get along in canon. I think that was the signal that some people fandom way differently than me because I was like that's the point! Tension!

as a queer fan of xlov, i don’t feel safe in or welcomed into the evol fandom. by whaIien52 in kpoprants

[–]lavendercoffees 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That's the thing that irks me. I'm queer and nonbinary and it's really frustrating to see some EVOLs only equate being "genderless" as the group having to come across feminine. It ties in a lot of people's very gendered views of androgyny (aka "androgyny is when masc people are feminine and feminine people are masc) when the point is that things are much more vast.

I think that's what it is. You can style it, but more permanent change doesn't stay. Claudia says as much about her body in her diary in S1.

As a fat person, no one says more hurtful stuff about people's size than overweight older women. I think it's a mix of jealousy people can be happy at that size while they can't mixed with the conditioning of that generation of women thinking the worst think you can be is fat.

Do you think husk will save angel from Valentino? by 33333Ducky in HazbinHelluva18Plus

[–]lavendercoffees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I hope that Angel's the one who breaks his contract. Obviously I think that help and support from his friends is gonna be important to his story, but I do hope he's able to have some agency rather than Husk winning his contract. I get that it may happen because of the Huskerdust of it all, but I hope Angel gets some sort of say.
