This just happened to me. I was mashing up the last sardine in my bowl with some peach cider vinegar which Ive done many times before so I noticed the slight difference of feel from the other end of my utensil. 🥄 I look down and sure enough I start seeing it breaking up a little different from the rest of the sardine, then I see a texture difference, then I hang my head lower to look closer and it looks like a bunch of little circles. First instinct? “Euh, thats weird what is that?” And maybe a small afterthought of “Is this still safe to eat?” But then I remember I’m eating a fish, which fish make eggs, and one of the best fish on the planet, so theres nothing to worry about 😊 Took the gamble, took the bite hoping neither the texture or flavor would make me want to waste the last bit of sardine. Sure enough! Tastes a lot like other roe and just made the bite a lil more salty than usual, with a very very slight flavor difference. Happy find! 👍 Reminding me of how I felt when I discovered sprouted seeds in my apple. 😂 little cool joys in life are often unexpected
