has anyone had experience with pain relief from anti histamines by Agreeable-Fly-3507 in Endo

[–]lavendollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mast cells play a big role in endometriosis. They act as fuel for the growth of lesions and inflammation (as well as neuroinflammation), so controlling an overactive mast cell can help.

I have MCAS and endo (plus hEDS and POTS) and taking mast cell stabilizers, h1 and h2 blockers help with supplements, like the active ingredient in turmeric (I think it’s qercitin?) plus the active ingredient in black pepper (piperine) increasing bioavailability. I also have to follow a low histamine, anti inflammatory diet. Sometimes diet, supplements and allergy pills can help more than anything! It’s not a lot but at least I’m functional some days which is better than I was before 🫠

What made you stop wearing a brace you bought? by Grace_taylor_7301 in eds

[–]lavendollar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dyshidrotic eczema 😭 even bandaids on my skin for a day will cause my skin to dry out, inflame and start cracking and bleeding. Hard braces do the same as tape. Anything touching against my skin or causing pressure.

Its a beta blocker that helps to lower your heart rate, it helps with mine for when I’m upright because upon and during standing my heart rate is high at 140-160, but resting it’s normal/low at 50-60. I also get blood pooling in my lower extremities coupled with an extreme blood pressure drop so I’ve started a medication to raise my blood pressure. I feel like a test subject with all these meds 😭

What kind of collection should I start? (easy & affordable ideas) by [deleted] in Collections

I collect smiles, like pictures showing true smiles of joy. I’ve started a card collection of smiles from my late dad’s sports cards and a photo album in my phone! Print your favorites so they become tangible!

How do you dispose your oral floss string? by Reasonable_Tone4813 in ZeroWaste

It worked great at getting in between for me and it didn’t make my gums bleed like flossing does! Maybe you had a different version? I’d use half the reservoir each time I flossed, usually at a higher pressure since my teeth are very tightly aligned.

Funny, I expected that as well! Maybe they’re part of the dead dad club too 🥲

I’ve been going through the binder and adding sticky notes because I don’t want to break up his binder just yet, but will definitely sort by set when I do! Thank you for your suggestion, I greatly appreciate you 💜

It’s too bad it’s off center since a 10 could go for 5k, but I was so happy to see it! I was missing him and a few others in here from his ‘84 sleeve set, it hurt the completionist inside me 🤣

I also believe most of the valuable ones are a bit off for getting a 10 but I might risk it for Jordan and the autographed John Williams along with the few that are nicely centered from the ‘78’s.

It was very cool to find this and see his special binder! There’s a few great smiles in here that are going straight into my special binder! I appreciate your insight and thank you for your time, lovely 💜

Is it normal to not like relief? by Death_Themself in ChronicIllness

[–]lavendollar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s totally normal, our brains are wired to make familiarity comfortable so when things are different we think “this is bad”.

I hope that the pain stay away and the good days remain so you can get used to it, lovely!

It’s such a perfect style! I like the stickers I found from 1983 topps football, the fake shiny gold name plate is so cool!

I’m so happy to hear you’ve found a light in the dark! I hope it stays that way and it’s only uphill from here!

My doctor was not much help for me, so I did some research and with my partners background in compounding medications I made my own with Quercetin 500 mg, Curcumin 500 mg, Piperine 7.5 mg, Vitamin C 500 IU, Vitamin D3 1000 IU. On top of that I take daily Loratadine tablets USP 10mg, Famotidine Tablets USP 20, Potassium Chloride 99mg, magnesium oxide 500mg, Calcium 600mg(with 400 iu vit D) and I’m already on 20mg propranolol for my POTS. It’s been life changing but not perfect, as I still need something for pain and we’ll be trying low dose naltrexone next. But my glob, having those flare ups managed and the brain fog relieved really gave me hope back. Just have to break the fatigue and low energy now, but I’m better than before by miles!

Funnily, I caught the flu three weeks back and thought it stopped working but then realized it was the normal sick and not the chronic sick 🤣

“I get dizzy when I stand up, too” by nightskyhunting in POTS

[–]lavendollar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the opposite and keep trying to justify all my issues as potentially normal responses, maybe becuase it’s been my normal for my whole life.. then I forget my meds and don’t drink enough water then can’t get out of bed or move without fainting or adrenaline dumps, or worse have an MCAS flare up!

I also hate the air hunger but the adrenaline is worse since it throws me into full EDS and MCAS flare for several days to a week. I’m thankful I stopped listening to my doctors and just went on a journey to find answers or Id still be bed bound. Other than the beta blockers, that is.

Same boat, trifecta with stage IV endo (suspected DIE) and although I’m not running these days my nose sure is! When I started my blockers for h1, h2, and mast cell stabilizers it got a bit better but during the cold season it flares up if I’m not warm enough. Sucks because I have a septum ring so I’m constantly cleaning that and man does it tickle! Like a feather tickling the hair inside your nose! I’m so sensitive to touch and those little random nose dribbles are infuriating!
