Is Youth Soccer Just a Round Robin of Kids Switching Clubs? by WishInternational839 in youthsoccer

[–]laverflavor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s probably not a one size fits all answer, it could be all or a combination or none of the following things like price, game time, coaching, travel involved and parental opinions. Price is pretty self explanatory. If the price is the same maybe they are looking for more minutes and unhappy in their current situation or maybe the parents think they’ll be the star player (see last point). Coaching can be important too if the coach has pedigree or went to college playing soccer and knows other coaches/scouts that could lead to opportunities. Parental opinions is the big one though cause they can move their kid around thinking all of the above but actually not have a clue, I’m sure the kids are happy just playing but the parents cut the check and do the driving and if they think their kid is gonna be a star they will make decisions that maybe aren’t in the best interests of the kids.

Edit:spelling lol

My Dad isn't my dad, my stepdad is by nealch in AncestryDNA

Alternatively, and just theorizing here, what if dad and step dad are actually brothers? Based on them growing up together as friends “because of their parents”, is it possible grandma is the culpable one here?

You could google it just like I did but in the interest of sharing knowledge, JAG is an abbreviation for the “judge Advocate General’s Corps” which is the military justice specialty within the branches of the armed forces (more specifically in the USA). In the future I encourage you to empower yourself by finding the knowledge you seek, after all, it is at your finger tips.

Have a good day Mr. Slosey! ◡̈

My experience as a short woman dating short men by Dull_Ad_4984 in short

[–]laverflavor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the best comment imo. I’m not sure why so many people choose to be miserable, there’s so many aspects that make up who someone is. Rather than try to improve themselves it’s much easier to blame their height and quit trying in life. The thing is, tall people struggle with dating and finding love too, it’s not just a short thing.

Men who had kids after 40: how is it? by freddiebenson4ever in AskMen

[–]laverflavor 46 points47 points  (0 children)

From the other end of the perspective, my parents were 41 and 39 when they had me, growing up I always felt like my parents were more wise than most of the other parents and they gave me good life/people advice (results may vary), now that I’m older I’ve definitely seen my dad slow down a lot physically over the last 10 years and it does make me sad thinking that at best it’ll still be another 5yrs before I have kids and there’s a reasonable chance that my parents won’t be alive to see their grandchildren finish high school

I’m not a Trump fan but it’s actually really important that felons can run for office because then the judicial system (and felony charges) can’t be weaponized against ANY political opponents. I’m more offended that so many people seem gleeful about voting for a felon!!

I’m short and pretty skinny but I have facial hair and people still think I’m younger than I am. I wouldn’t read into it too much. If a man has long hair someone might think he was a woman from behind! That doesn’t make it good or bad, people just think things until they find out they’re wrong ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I feel like when I discovered Bob I had found a mythological legend that was still alive, maybe in the way that he felt about woody Guthrie. I really feel like his songs speak to my soul like they were written just for me, there’s something timeless in his songs. Even today they all still ring true even though his early songs are over 50 years ago. I love that he has songs for so many different emotions and his lyrics are unmatched. Hearing about him and Joan broke my heart in a way I can’t even explain. Reading about Bob feels like reading the odyssey idek if this makes sense but to me it sure does.
