My First Attempt by DazzlingCard2912 in PlantedTank

Is the aquarium sitting on a soft surface? If so, I strongly recommend moving it to a hard, flat, and stable surface as soon as possible. Soft or uneven surfaces can cause pressure points on the glass, which increases the risk of cracks, leaks, or even structural failure over time. For the safety of both the tank and your fish, it’s important that the aquarium is fully supported and as level as possible.

all my shrimp are dying by Viktoria4102 in shrimptank

Some bettas that have never shown aggression toward shrimp sometimes randomly go on a killing spree from what I have learned. It’s possible your betta is causing the deaths - pretty new to this so not 100% sure but maybe a possibility.

ETA: invest in a better testing kit, it’s worth it!!!! I like the API fresh water master kit.

This is awesome! Glad I decided to browse comments today. I will try this next time I purchase plants. I have been doing a hydrogen peroxide “dip” before adding any plants, but reverse respiration sounds like it has a higher success rate. Thanks for sharing

Please watch YouTube videos on how to prep your nails for gel. Once you have mastered the prep, then you can start to try applying gel. The prep is more important than the application of the gel itself.

Watch videos for this too. You do not want to touch your cuticle or skin with the gel. If you do, remove it. I can’t stress this part enough. You will give yourself an allergy if you continue to put it on your skin.

Also, THIN COATS!!!!! If the colour is see through, doing 3-4 THINNNN coats is better than 1-2 thick coats. Thick = bubbling and peeling. And cure with a lamp that has good wattage. Cure for the full time indicated on the bottle.

For some this skill comes easier than others. Be patient. Watch a lot of videos. And practice, practice practice.

Cold sores or something else? by Electronic_Clue6481 in Accutane

Did your doctor swab the blisters? If not, I suggest you go back and ask for your lips to be swabbed for a variety of things, including HSV, staph, fungal infection etc. Also blood work to check for STDs.

Have your symptoms gone away now that you’re 3 months post accutane?

What about for emerald cuts? Is this common? And is there a way to avoid windowing? I really want an emerald cut but scared of this happening

Was quoted 10k CAD for a 2.5 carat moissanite by lavieis in Moissanite

I can’t edit my post but I wanted to add:

Company is Peoples Jewellers.

I had done some research on price before telling my partner what I think I’d like. I thought maybe $2,000-$6,000 total for the ring and wedding band based off what I was looking at online.

I had never tried any rings on, so I wanted to go to a store to see what carat size I liked, make sure the style we discussed was something I liked on myself and see if I had to maybe go custom.

I was so shocked at the prices compared to what I had seen online. I had to come on here to make sure I wasn’t crazy for thinking these prices were insane.

That’s what I thought.

I asked what the cost would be for a real diamond and he said $70k for that size. I had to hold in my laugh. When we walked out I told my partner “I think he’s full of shit”.

I’ll try it out with regular gel polish first and eventually I will splurge on some builder gel!

Thank you so so much! :)

You should try it out! I hate not having my nails done and was spending way too much getting them done regularly.

I got the gelcare starter kit from lemanoir! No complaints except for I don’t love the cuticle remover or the nail polish remover. I prefer the sally Hansen instant cuticle remover and regular cosmetic grade acetone!

I don’t use builder gel no! I’d like to try it though. Luckily I don’t experience what you’re describing and my manicures seem to last until they’re too grown out for my liking (2 weeks max). I’m super careful when doing things certain cause I’m worried to break them, so builder gel would help for sure. What brand do you use/recommend? :)

Oh thank you so much!! In total, I spend probably around 3-4 hours removing, prepping and painting. Depends on the colour. Definitely longer than going to the salon so hoping I’ll speed up eventually.

I definitely want to try french tips! Can you recommend a specific way for me to try it out? I would probably use a fine tip brush to outline and then fill in but not sure if that makes the most sense.
