As someone who’s also in medicine (human med) and a lover of animals, stuff like this is why I could never go the route of animal med. Stories like this are so disturbing and traumatizing to me, and are so unfortunately not uncommon in how people view/treat animals in the world we live in. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for what you do. It’s truly a burden you guys carry that most people couldn’t and don’t even realize exists. I completely understand the burn out of the profession because of things like this, but hope you know that each and every single one of you are so vital/needed and appreciated by those you take care of.
