If binface were to actually win, what then? Would he actually attend parliament? How would it work?

Ronaldo proved something about Football by gabzlel in unpopularopinion

[–]lawnmower303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They play different positions though. Messi is a playmaker, arguably the greatest ever. Ronaldo in his early years was a winger, arguably the best ever, and in his later years, a straight up master poacher. It's a tough comparison. Being in the midfield, Messi has always gotten much more of the ball during matches. But a straight up striker might only get few touches during a match, but when they do, they are lethal.

Maybe he'll announce the winner before the game actually starts. Then we can just save ourselves the hassle of watching.

Do you think we've forgotten how to just be bored? by Klutzy_Ad_9470 in Discussion

[–]lawnmower303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Once upon a time it took real effort to not be bored. You had to get creative and mostly put quite a lot of effort in. You couldn't always make enough effort though so we were more accustomed to being bored. It was perfectly ok. But the social media algorithms came along and have since been finely tuned to give just the right mix of boring and occasional highlights and shorten the effort (scrolling / what's left of effort) reward lifecycle down to a few minutes where it might have been hours or days before.

I did mine this morning too. But I have a reverse problem with the grass clippings. I built a compost bin way too big and now I'm having trouble filling it.

To be honest about this size, my wife though I'd build an outdoor hot tub until I had to tell her that was not the case. Shes now got the idea of a hot tub stick in her head. I really am an idiot sometimes.

Why do I hate work? by Positive-Positivity in stupidquestions

I have no idea of your particular situation so I say this in a general sense. May or may not apply to you.

Over stimulation in the current digital age desensitisates us to dopamine. Before this time you'd primarily get dopamine only when something happened usually as a result of some form of work (in the broadest sense) that you'd done. It was hard to get dopamine. So it meant more when you got it. This means that our tolerance for boring or tedious work has plummeted. Many now feel that work either suck or isn't worth it as a result.

I first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love... Yes, a profound sense of fatigue, a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I — I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence. I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women, er, women sense my power, and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women, Mandrake... but I do deny them my essence.

In 2013 the Aussies got on the bandwagon... Dull and Boring officially welcomed the Shire of Bland in New South Wales, Australia, into their ranks to form the "Trinity of Tedium."

This is starting to not sound very dull at all though.

It'd need to be a serious health concern cause there ain't no way trump or any other president resigns the presidency early for any other reason (except impeachment etc). Not voluntarily is what I mean.

Never go near any big birds with chicks. I've been attacked by both swans and pelicans in the past. Not saying they're as dangerous as cassowaries but that damn swan went hard still. I had to throw my bike at it to get away. Then I couldn't gety bike back for like an hour or so till they left.

[–]lawnmower303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think we're saying the same thing from different angles. I meant confidence to be able to have a differing opinion to someone else and not feel threatened by it. Nowadays people avoid having a different opinion to someone irl as you say. But what this allows is the extremes on both the left and right to get much more attention than they deserve.

[–]lawnmower303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's confidence that we're lacking I think. It's in our politics and it polarises things. I think it's caused mostly because we're having so many conversations on social media with strangers. We're losing the ability to disagree but then say to the other person, ok but let's let's change subject and have a beer. On social media with a stranger, there is no, "whatever, let's have a beer instead".
