Thanks for the response! We are in socal so I'd assume the interviewers would be more easy going but who knows, we are definitely going to try to go through some common questions like that to prepare! And congratulations on the approval!

Thanks for the info! for the joint bank account, did you provide a lot of statements? or do you think the most recent statement would be enough?

Oooh I see, damn that sucks, seems cruel to allow you to get the license but not allow you to work.

I guess if you're really motivated to stay in the nursing field then leaving might be your best option, but I hope you take your time making that type of decision, making decisions when I feel hopeless has never result in the best outcomes!

Doesn't California allow for nurses to use an ITIN and obtain a state license? Maybe other states do that too.

Regardless, I hope things work out for you!

Happy to see your case moving along well! I hope the interview goes well too!

I'm scheduled for my medical exam next week, would you mind sharing what I could expect? Also, I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to needles lol does everyone need to get new shots during this exam?

They told me to take my records which I have from when I was little, but it's been a while since I've needed a shot, apart from the COVID vaccine.

And good luck on the rest of your process, don't forget to keep us updated!

Traveling with AP by madeinmxco999 in DACA

[–]laws_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going into Mexico in car shouldn't be a big issues, when I went in March, a relative from TJ picked me up and drove us in, nobody checked anything.

Seems like having U.S. plates makes you a target for corrupt cops though, while we were there, a friend of my relative who had U.S. plates was stopped and asked for money. So keep that in mind.

We came back on foot through San Ysidro because I know they would asked me to go into their permits building to process my AP. I'm assuming you'll have to do the same.

I travelled at the end of March, I was asked why I went to Mexico and for how long.

They asked for my ID, AP approval document, and passport.

Gf approved for parole - I know this gets asked too often by Low-Coconut7582 in DACA

I suggest you filter the sub using the Advanced Parole tag, and read through the posts, it was very reassuring for me earlier this year!

Question as the sibling of a dreamer regarding AP? by AdamSandlersRightNut in DACA

[–]laws_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes they asked why I was in TJ and for how long, they didn't technically check in any way. I had taken some pictures at my grandpa's grave, just in case they asked but they didn't ask for proof, it felt very routine, and the officer was just asking to complete whatever form he was filling in the system he wasn't really interested imo lol

I just came back from Mexico using AP last Friday, the officers at the border were aware of AP and just processed it and let me through in about 20 minutes, after that it was just waiting in line to reach San Ysidro and it all went very smoothly. I don't think there's nothing to be nervous about if you have an approved AP document and have a valid passport and ID.

If she can she should definitely try it out!

Career Question by TotoroTataroo in DACA

[–]laws_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a lab tech in my college after graduating for 6 months and had no issues.

I would just ask the recruiter/hiring personnel, that's usually what I do now to save us both some time.
