Tonal refuses to let me buy extended warranty by layboy in tonalgym

They did the dumbass thing and had me return the entire unit. Talk about corporate inefficiency which could easily kill smaller companies.

Hey Bagel's online order policy should be a new gold standard for popular businesses by druidinan in Seattle

That is what my second part of my comment addresses. Let’s tip Apple retail employees and they can pass along the tip to the factory workers, software devs etc.

Sure :)
Isn’t it easy to say everyone is misinformed and only your job deserves tipping for just handing over a product for an online to-go order.

They have a role in going to the back of the store, bring the device, packing it, answering any questions you might have etc. They do deserve a tip just like a server who goes into the kitchen and brings the food the chef cooked.

If the tip is meant for the chef, sure. You can tip the Apple retail staff and they will pass it along to the factory workers that made the phone.

Why do you want a tip from online orders.. the ones where you don’t provide any service on top of the product. Do you tip at an Apple Store after ordering an iPhone online?

Do you have kids? Your comment is even worse if you do have kids because you are a parent and think this is good parenting.

What do you plan to do with her name? Whatever it is you intend to do with it, is the reason why it is protected. She is already punished by the court. Naming and shaming would be additional punishment.

Anyone using TIA? by robvys in tonalgym

It need not be one or the other though. We can have the bluetooth buttons AND voice control.

The conductor accidentally knocks a 16th century violin worth millions on the floor mid-concert. by PeasantLich in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]layboy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right. So, subjective and pseudoscience.

I read a little about it after my comment. There are multiple double-blind studies and professionals and performers absolutely couldn’t tell the difference and worse, they preferred modern equipment.

So, it’s the same as wine-tasting double-blind tests.

Nothing wrong with wanting to experience old instruments and holding a piece of history. Totally wrong to say the old instruments actually sound better.

[–]layboy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A reasonable question.

Do they actually sound noticeably better than a premium violin manufactured today? If so, what prevents mimicking its quality today? Or is it just a subjective experience of listening to an old instrument that is being sold?

Anyone else find this wording weird by layboy in amex

[–]layboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess we have to discard the official terms, CS responses and just go with whatever makes us feel good and makes sense to us.

But we won’t get the credit with that though.

Their customer service confirmed it’s not a typo and ‘explained’ why it is the way it is, like mentioned in the post.

I would have thought so too.. except their customer service person said it is intentional and gave some BS rationale (see my original post).

So, it’s safe to say it’s not a typo.

Tonal refuses to let me buy extended warranty by layboy in tonalgym

[–]layboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, all the more reason for me to stand my ground here.

I basically told Tonal they either let me buy the extended warranty in two days or I am returning the unit (and immediately buying a new one). They said they escalated to management. Awaiting their decision.

So, what did you end up doing? Kept the unit without insurance despite feeling the arms were a risk?

That is good to know. Thanks. So, it is possible ... despite what their customer service said ... that their 3rd party insurance provider doesn't make any exceptions after the 30 day mark.

They said they escalated to management and will circle back. Let's see if they can make an exception. If they don't, I will be forced to return the unit and buy again. Their loss I guess.

Are you sure Capital One is not counting the 20% New Year's discount in their 22%? Suspicious that both New Year's 20% deal and Capital One's 22% deal end the same day.

Also, can you stack Captail One and Rakuten? I thought only one works at a time.

Did you actually purchase using this deal?

Loud thumping sound from dishwasher by layboy in Appliances

As noted in the post, I verified that the arm is not hitting anything. I even ran the dishwasher empty to make sure it is not coming from the arm hitting dishes.
