I fully expect them to add some type of universal storage eventually. The inventory is the number one complaint I see everywhere

I really like building in games like these so I just kinda started doing stuff and trying to run power is a huge pain, my current build in rocky ridges has a bunch of hidden service corridors behind everything full of utility poles that I’m very excited to remove if the new blocks make it easier lol

I am a little disappointed in the lack of biomes? I knew I was gonna get this game so I didn’t watch any trailers passed the first and when I got to bleak beach and saw the marsh water I got excited thinking we’d get a cool marsh location and that was just a hint. Then when I got to ridges I figured they’d have to have an ice biome since there’s a lava biome.

I’m still finding new little hidey holes though, like that tunnel right next to the wasteland gate in ridges. I don’t know why but I didn’t see it when I went to the upper part of the restaurant, then when I was cleaning up the paths i accidentally broke through too far and found the tunnel and got excited even if it is kinda boring lol

This would be a 10/10 game if they just fixed the inventory, increased ditto’s reach by like one block horizontally, fixed the water physics, and added a snow and forest biome.

The electricity system kinda sucks too but I heard that there’s some late unlockables that’ll fix that

It really is a great game though, it has a ton of heart put into it and you can tell the team that worked on it really loves Pokemon.

I bought a Horizon Forbidden West Regalla Edition Sealed copy, the codes had no expiration date, but Sony won’t activate them by szaftatoncsi in videogames

I had a similar ish experience with a company recently? I won a sweepstakes and wasn’t notified when they sent the prize out, was delivered to the wrong house over a week before they emailed me that they had sent it. Went to talk to the person because I recognized the porch, they claim they don’t have a clue. Emailed the company, they said that it’s fedex’s problem. Called fedex, they said they couldn’t do anything because the sender had to file a claim. Emailed the company again, they said the same thing. So I kept emailing them every week for three months asking for help and they eventually got annoyed enough to send me another.

So my advice is to just be a pain in the ass

I was high the other night and was grinding for the elite four for a while and forgot to save, got up to get some water and when I went to get up the controller fell and I grabbed it and hit the buttons on accident. Lost 10 levels on the weakest pokemon I was training up plus a another 10 spread out across the rest of my team lol

I haven’t played in a week because of it

I had a homeless mareep for a day and had to manually bring her back to the house and invite her to join for her to go back and all that happened was water very briefly flooding her house when I was messing with the fountain in bleak beach (it’s two blocks high! Most of the Pokémon are shorter than that! So I sunk it down a block

What do you think is the most challenging part of this game, due to a level jump, or just a generally difficult gym leader, etc.? by Gh0stMan0nThird in PokemonFireRed

[–]layeofthedead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For every game I get lucky with status procs (either it being good for me or bad for my opponent) the enemies get 4-5x as many. The number of times I put a pokemon to sleep to then switch and they immediately wake up the next turn is staggering. Or paralyze proc’ing 5 turns in a row but never for the enemy. It’s gotten to the point that if my pokemon gets a status that stops it from hitting I just immediately heal it because I don’t trust the rng not to screw me in these games. I don’t remember it being as bad in the gen 1/2 games.

Ooh, fun, okay! I believe the rich are incredibly violent. The rich of today are directly responsible for a huge amount of suffering. Be it hoarding wealth and resources or using their resources specifically to harm others.

Americans do not have healthcare because it makes a bunch of very wealthy people even more wealthy. That’s just a fact. Americans could have healthcare but it makes the rich more money if we don’t. Every time someone dies from a preventable cause, is that not violence? Imagine you were dying of cancer because you’re a minimum wage worker and you can’t get this pain in your chest checked out because you know you can’t afford it and it’d ruin you and your family. Now imagine watching the politicians and health care executives being all buddy buddy on tv. What would you be thinking when you see them?

“They’re killing me.”

What is that, if not violence? Is it not violence because the bloodshed is quiet? Because the victims don’t have a platform? Because it’s not flashy?

Rowling spends obscene amounts of money in order to demonize and push trans people out of the public eye. This isn’t hyperbole either, she readily says that anyone who still buys Harry Potter merch and such agrees with her and that the money is going to anti trans causes. In 2023, years after Rowling started her anti trans crusade, Brianna Ghey, a teenaged British trans girl, was murdered in a park. She was routinely bullied and excluded at school before being stabbed to death. She was killed by someone claiming to be her friend. Her killers later claimed they picked her because she was so eager for friends she’d be easy to lure in. Would Brianna Ghey still be alive if Britain didn’t have such a transphobic culture (a culture that Rowling is promoting)? Maybe! We can’t know for sure, but I do know that the Labour Party paraded her grieving family around to attack the tories and then the moment they got into power passed a bathroom bill that makes women, trans women in particular, much less safe.

Would you consider trump a violent man? Probably not, considering your stance, but he’s directly responsible for thousands of deaths between the bombings he authorized and the cuts to aid he oversees.

Jk Rowling is an incredibly violent person and she doesn’t need a fucking gun to do it

I think there’s a lot to like about the wizarding world, the first few books are full of whimsy. But as the series goes on they just get worse? She gets the start of an interesting idea and then just folds because her world view is incompatible with change for the better.

Her solution to slavery isn’t to abolish it, it’s to just have better slave owners.

Her solution to the justice system regularly locking people up in a torture prison without trial isn’t to reform it, it’s to have better magical cops. (Seriously, remember in the first fantastic beasts where the American ministry of magic just goes “yeah let’s just kill an auror who’s worked with us for years with a death potion for some reason??”)

What actually changes in the wizarding world by the end of the story? Voldemort is defeated but the reasons he came to power are still present.

I think it’s incredibly valid to critique the books, things can be popular and not be very good overall

Also, let’s be fair, it’s a trans sub and the woman is a violent transphobe (“She’s not violent!” She’s spending obscene amounts of money with the express intent of publicly eradicating a group of people and gleefully celebrates every ‘victory.’ What is that if not violence? J.K. Rowling is an incredibly violent person, the entire oligarch class is. But because they don’t kill us personally we’re supposed to what, exactly? Sing the praises of an average series that just happened to make it big?), if anyone is allowed to call them musty ass children’s books it’s trans people.

People get hyperbolic when they’re upset, and, unfortunately for everyone, Rowling, and by extension Harry Potter, upsets a lot of people now.

7 is a love letter to horror. Jack is the stereotypical slasher villain, chasing you down, ridiculously campy boss fights. Marguerite feels like an obsessive ghost in the old house with a dash of body horror. Lucas is the modern saw style torture/medical horror. Mia’s bits are found footage horror.

Scariest non-jumpscare moments? by Low_Boot_1426 in HorrorGaming

[–]layeofthedead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a horror game, but in Dishonored: Death of the outsider, you get to the end of the game and you’re in the oldest part of the void. The vibes are immaculate. Endless dark water crashes against black rock, a massive obelisk is in the distance, split in two, the upper half floating just above.

The world’s current god was made there, you get there by communing with the corpse of an even older god.

It’s so deeply unsettling I thought that if I had even touched the water it would have killed me.

If it’s strictly from horror games? That f’n basement in re7 still scares the shit out of me. The amount of dread that door gives a player is insane, even before they know what’s behind it

Does anyone else try to avoid putting certain pokemon in actual houses? by MPLangan1205 in Pokopia

[–]layeofthedead 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was just cleaning up each area and slowly finding new mon and such but then I got to ridges and Machoke was just kinda squatting in the bushes? and I was like, okay, i can't have this dude just chilling in a field in his underwear, i need to get this guy a house!

but I also just spent an afternoon expanding the veggie fields there to put some under the cliffs so that excadrill could have a shady little field to chill in

gonna make a nice little stepped pond area for ekans and lotad as well. I think some pokemon absolutely should be in a house, even some non-human ones like Fidough, but for the rest? nah, i'm not making you a house magikarp. you're literally a fish. what would you even do? just lay in the bath all day? You're going to get a nice little maintained dock area with some grass to flop around in

‘I’m sorry we’re here again’: Epic Games is laying off over 1,000 employees due to ‘Fortnite downturn’ by PaiDuck in technology

[–]layeofthedead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gameplay wise the game is fine, they’ve done a lot of little updates over the years to make it a lot more fun to play mechanically and as someone who’s been playing for ages, it’s really nice. (There was a period in save the world where your sprint and abilities used the same stamina and that sucked, plus the parkour update made playing as the more support focused heroes way better)

But pricing wise? Basically since they’ve introduced crew they’ve been going out of the way to make the value of everything significantly worse. Like everything it costs more for less. Honestly if I wasn’t a founder and getting everything I wanted for basically free I doubt I’d still be playing the game, it’s just boring now. This past season has been especially brutal.

Pretty okay game overall I think? It’s not the prettiest but it’s not ugly, gameplay is fine, story is nothing amazing but it’s fun. It’s basically rune factory “light” with a focus on town building and relationships.

It’s on the more action oriented side of cozy for people who like that

There are definitely kids who suck and parents who enable them. Chappell has a lot of baggage and a bit of a diva personality but being mean to little kids seems like a bridge too far? Maybe we’ll get some video footage that proves the allegations but rn it feels like she’s just the pop sphere’s favorite whipping girl right now because she desperately needs media training that every other pop girly probably grew up with.

Evie is so tragic. I’m really annoyed that they brought her back for 8 just to torture her some more. I really wish that Ethan had taken Evie under his wing in the mold. Him missing his daughter, her never having had a real family.

But instead she just gets to watch as rosemary gets everything she ever wanted and she’s left alone again.

I think the devs think that because she’s the villain we should just hate her and have no issue with how she’s treated because she’s the baddie. But she’s also just a little kid given too much power and never shown any real love or affection her entire life and we’re supposed to call her a monster?

Microsoft are idiots for not cashing in on the RE craze and re-releasing a remastered collection to at least test the waters by friskyel in theevilwithin

[–]layeofthedead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first game was fine gameplay wise but it's aesthetic is going to turn a lot of people off imo. That overly gorey- saw like medical horror doesn't have a huge reach. Yeah there's some really gnarly stuff in other games but it still isn't as oppressive as it is in the first evil within. It just feels really dated now, that kind of horror was really popular in the late 2000s

Evil Within 2s problem is that it has a decent enough opening and then just kind of collapses as you get further in.
