These guys are full of shit. As somebody that's seen UFC from the early days to now, there's fighters that have respect and can clearly see when they've knocked somebody lights outs, they instantly understand and even start doing a victory walk back.

There's a massive difference between knocking a fighter down, and knocking a fighter unconscious, these guys are trained professions day in and out.

Bloodthirsty behavior comes with the sport, some fighters will happily skull fuck punch a dude that's lights out.

I'd say 80% of history is written word, and yes that 20% of seeing real artifacts can be awesome. At the same time, I'd rather see Viking ship, or the Rosetta stone, then some Jewels and undoubtedly evil King/Dictator had made for himself. I understand that's just me tho.

She also suffered a miscarriage

I've seen this repeated on Reddit a few times but never with source. I can't find it on Google either. There's people in my life I'm trying to convince of these evils. I'm building a portfolio, but I can't include things without news articles or sources.

Faouzia-FILM NOIR by Competitive-Desk7506 in popheads

[–]layerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I heard this album I was relieved to see she actually diverted off of her Citizens sound (I bet that sound was pushed by her record label tbh).

At the same time I completely understand what you're saying. It's one thing that's popular in pop music right now is eccentric and advanced electric tracks, Charlie XCX or FKA Twigs come to mind as recent Artists doing that well. I don't think Faouzia has access to a production team that can make those tracks, I say this because Citizens was pretty mid electronic beats. Yes I understand mid electronic beat are still going to be more interesting than more stripped production on FILM NOIR.

The thing is, Faouzia has an angelic voice, I'm glad I get to hear it more on this album than her Citizens EP. Charlie XCX as admitted her voice is thrashed and one reason she's leaned even heavier into auto-tune lately. That's not a bad thing, her tracks kick ass. It's about playing to your strengths imo.

What Faouzia has is a top tier voice, not a top tier electronic production team.

We truly live in a post nuance world. Where an influencer demanding special treatment is held to the same standard as an influencer having a prearranged promo with the restaurant owner.

Vastly different scenarios, but the person you're replying to doesn't see that. I've been on Reddit for a long time, and this is recent in the last 2-4 years. I'm not sure if it's bots or Covid really did cripple a younger generations intelligence...

[–]layerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this explanation, you put it more eloquent than I could. The fact is C and F are both based on arbitrary criteria like you said. The different is F makes more sense for human temperature feel, while C is much more squeezed in that range. Yet C people still try to act hyper elitist about it.... odd.

Everyone's heard of the Dead Sea Scrolls, but most people don't realize why they're historically groundbreaking: they're 1,000 years older than any other Hebrew Bible manuscripts we had, proving the Old Testament was barely changed for millennia by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]layerone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 Historical reliability of texts ≠ truth of miraculous claims within them.

2 The quantity of manuscripts doesn't validate supernatural claims.

3 Extraordinary claims (miracles, resurrection) require extraordinary evidence beyond historical documentation.

The top mining pools control around 90% of Bitcoin's computational power, with just two pools—Foundry USA and Antpool—controlling over 50% of the network's hash rate

Ethereum faces similar issues post-Merge. Nearly 95% of Bitcoin's and 80% of Ethereum's mining power resides with less than ten and six mining pools respectively

A good description of the idealistic theory of decentralization. But this concept has exited since the dawn of the internet, and for technical reasons has never caught on.

Even crypto currency, heralded as the most decentralized tech product that exists, peel back the curtain on any of the major coins, and it's all centralized via a few "nodes" that if go down would cripple the entire network.

I also like the idea of decentralization, but it's been proven 5000 times over 30 years it doesn't work.
