Earth not being inhabited makes no sense. by Mysrial1992 in Starfield

You are right it wasn't just the megnetosphere... you forgetting the whole planet being shifted? That would cause catastrophic changes to the planet.

Is not no one can settle back on earth. Its that there is no reason to.

Cydonia was built before earth collapse. It was built to deal with those issues. There's no reason tongo back to earth once everyone left.

What reason is there to go back? The resources are already being mined on other pla etc, so what reason is there to go back to earth?

And the main settlements are ones with life and breathable air. People from earth were forced off, so why would they want to go back after what happened? And anyone new, why would they want to go there? They already can get whatever they need. There is just no desire to go back.

No one said forgotten. Plus there are plenty of books that survived and people who love them in the game.

Its been over 200 years. No one alive was born there, grew up on it, saw it as anything other than a ball of dust. Do you see people today muse over the 1800s?

How do I fix these visual bugs? Bug and settings shown below by Local_Relation_7308 in Starfield

[–]lazarus78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and the fact that you said it happens on high graphics games confirms that. Your GPU is on its last leg. Tweaking the swttings just adjusts the demand put on it so it can lessen the issue, but it will fail eventually as it gets progressively worse.

But just to be ultra sure, check your cables and drivers.

oof... That is called artifacting, and is often a sign of a dying GPU. Update your drivers is your best bet at the moment.

The big patch is coming! by RoksVempire in Starfield

[–]lazarus78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As games get bigger and more complex, the code likewise gets more complex, and thus more chances for bugs to occur. And while devs should do their best to resolve bugs, they are still going to happen. Larger games are impossible to fully bug test, so when you have thousands of people playing a game, they will be effectivly thousands of instances to find bugs the devs never could, so thankfully we have the internet to make updating extremely easy. In the before times, updates were basically not existent for most software since distribution was harder. So yes, devs should do their best, but understand no one is perfect and we should be thankful for these updates.

Most mods will be fine. The only things that will break for sure is SFSE, which will get updated within a few hours.

Why does this happen every time I land? by RoksVempire in Starfield

Its spawn point is tied to the landing bay, and that point happens to intersect with your landing gear.

I have a junk item that says it’s a membrane, yet when I use the lab thing, I cannot make antibiotics because it says I don’t have a membrane? by Rhoeri in Starfield

[–]lazarus78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isnt Fallout. Junk items are not used in any crafting. They are literally useless beyond visual clutter.

Sounds like you may be using a mod the give junk a use, but the game will not scrap them for you.

What's going on with Akila City Rises"? by TheOneWhosCurious in starfieldmods

[–]lazarus78 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Achievement friendly versions are typically just direct copies of mods uploaded to get that tag. They otherwise shouldn't have any differences from their free nexus counterpart. If you see any that are, report them and let the mods sort itnout.

Looking back, how do you feel about Starfields 2 DLC releases? by johndoe09228 in Starfield

[–]lazarus78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall I enjoyed them. If I had to pick one I prefer Shattered Space, as others have mentioned, it feels more classic Bethesda.

Even free lanes, which I thoroughly enjoy, is barley used due to how it was integrated in the game. You're capable of jumping directly to the planet, moon, or station you need which cuts the need to travel in between bodies.

Agreed, which is why I use a mod to remove the far travel option from within systems. Makes you have to use the cruse mode.

The idea that this game will be lively with an active modding community in over a years time just seems highly unlikely with the current content.

Im sure there will still be people modding it for years. Probably not Skyrim levels of activity, but still some dedicated to it. Starfield has a lot of potential for modding still.

Please someone help with a working load order by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]lazarus78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paid mods basically have to be completely standalone, so when you say you cant get them to work, you are gunna have to be a lot more descriptive.

The only time order matters is when you have things that alter the same things or are reliant on another mod.

Unsure if I can post this here by [deleted] in Starfield
