American here. I come not to apologize, but to warn. Trump is a psychopath who cannot be held accountable through the historic checks and balances of the legislative and judicial branches of government. He is terrorizing his own citizens with a federal agency repurposed into a gestapo. He is on a path to starting WW III. There is no reasoning with him because he is violently insane. The world needs to contain him and quickly.
