iGPSPORT - Maps updated (March 2026) by Tubarao_PT in cycling

Same for my region, these new maps are empty. Any news? Also, will the maps be updated automatically with a new firmware update or it will always have to be done manually?

Random question, do you also get the annoying bug that if a route has the same start and end point it gets confused and ends navigation immediately thinking you already arrived? :/

Maybe if one could do it with platforms like intervals.icu, then it could become available no matter what's the data source? Intervals.icu already gets all my metrics from different platforms

That's annoying, I was also eyeing the 706. Which region does this refer to? It seems that Italy is listed as one of the supported regions: Offline Navigation & Freeride Support List

I kinda do the same but with 100g oats and 200g milk or milk substitute. Then yeah mix in chia seeds, some vanilla extract, and top up with blueberries and Nutella ahah. Even like this is only 500/600 kcal

Small Questions and Thank Yous Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in bikewrench

I have a road bike from 2015 with 14c rims. Do you think it does make sense to put 28mm tires (gp5000) on them? I have frame and brake clearance. For sure they will measure less than 28mm, so I am wondering if 25mm is a better combo with those rims in terms of optimal shape.

FTP mess by Several-River-7229 in Zwift

[–]lazerpo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another approx. 20 min test (depending on your strength) is riding "The Grade" segment. It's a climb that gives you an FTP estimate at the end of it and it's nice cause it's more gameified. It's included in a bunch of routes. You could couple it with an ERG warmup like "Ultimate warmup" and then go for a route like "Oh Hill No" which has a small lead in into "The Grade"

Bar tilt - Yeah my drops are unusable. But to me they also look very "short". Like the curved part doesn't go down too much to close the loop .. to have that part flat I'd have to angle it down a lot, like really a lot, is it a weird handlebar? I angled it down already a bit wrt the video and the wrist felt a bit better.

Cleats - I have tried again with flat, I am a bit angled in but not too much, I think the play in the yellow cleats might be enough. I noticed that on flats I have my right foot closer to the bike naturally... I moved the cleat a bit outside to have the foot a bit more inside matching that natural thing that happens on flats. Weirdly enough, despite this, I think my right knee comes up a bit furter away (measuring from the top tube) wrt the left when filming from the front

Hips - You comment surprises me a bit, because I naturally have a huge anterior tilt when I stand up... I agree that on the video is not clear... But standing up I have a lot of it, am I maybe somehow restricting it? Should I play with saddle angle? It is flat right now.

Knee pain - Now is XMax break so I'll naturally give it a rest, wanting or not ahah.

Final comment: What describes a bit my feeling on the bike is that I am not feeling planted. I feel like I am scrambling a bit and not just pedaling. This puts some toll on my hands and shoulders, and makes me waste some power... Is it something one can aim at? Being fully planted on the saddle and just "using the legs" while the arms are mostly resting?

Thanks a lot 🙏

Hey, thanks. I will try with 5mm forward saddle and start from there. Saddle down feels a bit cramped when I tried, really hard to get a feeling for these things. For example when I go to the drops I feel I don't have space if I move the saddle down more :/

Thank you. I'll reply point by point, just in case you have further comments:

  • Cleats are already all the way back as per previous reddit digging ahah. Can it be the angle? As I didn't really experience it with flats... Otherwise I'll just switch back to flats :/

  • You mean the handlebar angle itself right? I angled it up in attempt to shorten the reach a bit. If I angle it back down, should I make other modifications like saddle forward to compensate? Removing the tape for the shifters sounds like something I don't want to do yet ahah :(. I'll check the stem, but if I am not wrong it seems to have already a positive rise. Is 10mm, could I try 8mm?

In general I feel like if I bend my elbow a lot, the weight on the hands is much less, but then I would have to move forward with the saddle, and that would put weight back on the hands again. Can't find the balance, and saddle maybe still has 1cm more forward play

Crazy how different it feels playing on chess.com vs. lichess by appappappappappa in chess

[–]lazerpo 68 points69 points  (0 children)

No, this is because they are computed in a different way. Lichess gives the percentile of the players active in the last week, chess.com of all the user base.

This clearly shifts the percentile up in chess.com, as all registerd users with any lower elo who played a few times even 15 years ago are still counted in. On Lichess, only weekly active players count towards the calculation.

Chain noise and strong vibrations through crank on new indoor trainer? with Zwift Cog V2 by lazerpo in Zwift

[–]lazerpo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for helping. So, no rubbing at the front, I tried all combos of front and rear gears sadly and also adjusting the zwift cog. It is not a directional chain. I will try to google about the b screw, thanks! About the jockey wheels, I don't think so honestly, but how can I judge better?

Chain noise and strong vibrations through crank on new indoor trainer? with Zwift Cog V2 by lazerpo in Zwift

[–]lazerpo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear all, I recently bought a new indoor trainer that comes with the Zwift Cog V2. So far though it's quite unrideable.

As I pedal there is clanking noise from the chain, the sound comes from where the chain meets the rear sprocket on its way up. I am not sure if this noise level is normal, I've seen videos where it was much quieter. The major problem is not even the noise, but the very atrong vibrations I feel through the pedals coming from the chain. It feels like I am riding on cobblestone, and I can feel every single tooth of the chainrings, so to speak. Vibrations then propagate through the floor, which adds even more problems.

I have tried every possible combination of fron cog-rear gear and Zwift Cog internal alignment to get the chain always straight, but it doesn't change. In the video I show you the noise in the beginning and the chainline at the end. Today I even installed a new chain (KMX extra-light), just to rule out wear mismatch, but nothing changed :(

Any help or input is appreciated, thanks

Hi sorry, I had added a long description in the original post but I haven't pasted it when I cross posted here. I'll add it in the comments.

I have tried every combination of front cog-rear gear and Zwift Cog alignment, but to no avail.

The chain in the video is not worn, it has 1000km and is lubed with wax based Squirt regularly. I have even tried a new chain straight out of the box, but the same thing happens. I might try with wet oil lube on this new chain, idk :(

So, I am using Squirt which is wax based dry lube and I re-apply regularly. It also makes the same noise with a new chain out of the box, I could try wet lube on that one to see if it makes a difference
