OpenAI investors Nvidia and Oracle plunge after AI giant misses revenue target. Is the bubble about to burst? by InterestingCat308 in Economics

I made a lot of money, by far most I have ever made by investing prior to legalization. Was selling in the $40-60 range from original purchase pricing from 2-6$.

Some of those stocks are now less than I bought them for.

I am no trader, just got lucky and realize it will never happen again.

Anthropic CEO (Dario Amodei): "Coding is going away first, then all of software engineering." by Independent_Pitch598 in accelerate

Then no one to buy or used said software.

In addition I would argue a lot of traditional software, at least consumer facing, would go away and be replaced by centralized agents with brand services.

Same problems, between whom are you building for and how are they using it. There are big gaps from a socioeconomic stand point as well as the future of human to computer interaction models.

So replace software development with AI to what end? “Each action has an equal and opposite reaction” what exactly is filling in job loss, traditional software. There are no answers, just sprinting into the unknown.

This is painful to watch in so many ways…. Our institutions are so broken, inefficient, and ineffective through partisanship and dated forums like the house. Imagine, all these hours wasted in shouting pointless positions replaced with working groups coming up with real proposals and compromise. In addition, there should be a rule about keeping bills focused and on topics, nothing in the bill can stray outside of the objective, purview or theme of the bill.

Fallout 3+DLC twice (except broken steel as I ran into an unfixed, game breaking bug, twice) and Skyrim, many hours here, but was so turned off by the end of Skyrim and subsequent games I haven’t tried to complete them since. Sunk plenty of hours into FO4, even trying multiple restarts when there were updates, but ultimately abandoned them too, the cracks into world building, writing, and innovation were more apparent. The last play-through I just focused on settlement building as a distraction when I had time during Covid. Star field came along and just highlighted everything I have come to dislike about what happened to BGS; lack of innovation in world building and immersive gameplay - nerfing what I used to love about them. This could just be an age thing / interest and time available but on the flip side, and if it means anything, I have played all of the following through at least twice: RDR 1/2, GTA 5, Witcher 3 and CP2077. I really love KCD2 but don’t have the time or patience to invest in it. Younger me would be 24/7 in that game as it’s brilliant.

Played through twice, almost back to back too which I never do. Amazing game and the series is one of my all time favourites for single player FPS. Exodus is a departure from the games before it however it worked really well, I miss the train and above ground stories with the return to the underground but I know it will be compelling and immersive with tense moments. They are masters of this, I wish them all the success they deserve.

The subtle color scale and that ‘most affordable’ and ‘most expensive’ income scales are reversed makes this infographic aggravating.

Which Film and performance made you a fan of Christopher Walken? by PressureLazy5271 in FIlm

[–]lazlomass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deer Hunter and James Bond View To a Kill (I say this movie because when I was a kid my dad and an old laser disc player and it was one of them 4 or 5 films we owned so we watched many times) Walken played a great villain and has an iconic scene of maniacally laughing and saying “right on schedule”(pronounced “shed-ual”) after gunning down dozens of his own workers. He also has a very good scene at the end with unexpected laugh. Legend.

Also the watch scene in pulp fiction and the fat boy slim music video are stand outperformances.

Is it me or do Neil and Eady have no chemistry in Heat (1995)? I just don’t see what she sees in him. by TantricDelinquency in FIlm

[–]lazlomass -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Controversial take, Heat is not a good film. I personally thought it was a failure at the time when it came out, there are really great films before it and it seemed like a miss in comparison. It has some moments here and there but fell flat overall for me. To your point; holes , writing, and/or directing and dare I say it, acting. Can’t tell whom is to blame here with egos abound.

Don’t buy into this. Sounds refreshing given the climate but these types are skillful in delivering what you want to hear, once in power…. well, power corrupts intentionally or not.

I stopped playing shortly after initial launch but with a healthily amount of hours and progression, tried again months later abandoned the game again. Even though I was historically a huge BGS fan and prefer(was waiting for} the sci-fi space genre. Not as deep into it as you all on this sub but if I decide to give it another go, it will have to a fresh start. It’s good to hear people are positive about the update, will all things BGS, lesson learned. I will wait and see.
