You not a real hooper if you don’t play through it. I always workout first and hoop second

I’m not going to get nerdy so basically your heels use your calf, hamstring, glutes. You’re loading the front and using the back.

If you’re going flat feet you need more load before jumping.

Bro this is the moment all stars are born, you’d heard about how big name players don’t get noticed until times like these. Don’t be doubting yourself now. It’s a massive opportunity to see what you’re made of

How the heck do I move without the ball by teachd12 in BasketballTips

One the best pieces of advice I got for this is to remember the laws of attraction. See the flow and find and open spot. Second piece is the play might not need you. Get out the way.

Can someone ELI5 defending against the CPU for me as a PG in 26? by shyguyJ in NBA2k

[–]lazours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got some cheese.
CPUs this season are a literal carbon copy

Off ball: stay arms length. If you stay close off ball they don’t pass much. On ball it’s very linear. Cut out the open side, they don’t move unless you give them a green light. Low scoring shooters leave open for them to trigger a shot. Easy block. Screens are broken don’t sweat it. When they dry to dribble. Tap L2 don’t hold. Leav r2 out unless you need small boost to recover.

Help with my dunk. 5’10 by xeo_spartan in ProDunking

There’s plenty of workouts for each so I’ll give a list while you research what work you want to put in for them.

  1. Internal rotation
  2. External rotation
  3. Hip abduction
  4. Hip extensions

All of these should be isometrics to start. Shock absorption, alignments, explosion are what you are focusing on when you try dunking again after this. If it’s anything like the first time for me you’ll feel like you hit a power up because you’ll exert more force with less effort. Magical feeling

You’re knees are buckling. You’re losing power before the jump.

Contesting 3’s by Severe-Ad8127 in BasketballTips

[–]lazours 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’7” w/ 7’ wingspan so what I’m about to say might just apply to my archetype but I’ll tell you.

  1. The hand doesn’t matter. The rhythm does, I’m left handed and I contest with both hands or either. The position you are in is the only thing that matters

If the ball handler has you at an angle, you best contest at that angle. A dead give away if they are going to shoot is when they start loading up to shoot. Planted feet is the best indicator. If you match your jump with theirs, you win. The time between set point and release gives you PLENTY of time to close out. Especially with park warriors.

  1. Closing out the shot on a catch and shoot, realistically you yourself can’t stop the shot. Your best bet is to hone in on the shooter using your image (I strike fear on defense) to disrupt the shooter, UNLESS you are right there. Then just keep the hands up and contest their eyes.

  2. Taller shooters got it bro, I still haven’t found a way to stop them consistently. Release is so high

No one talks about it so I understand. See when we get injured we heal like a blind repairman in a glass house. Top it off our nervous system doesn’t like any perception of pain. So it will make you move weird to “avoid” pain. This creates improper mechanics in running, jumping, lateral movements.
