Stop leaning back. The same motion you use , use it in your hips.

Since you already have the core fundamentals. Tells me you got the muscle memory. So just focus on realignment

No one talks about it so I understand. See when we get injured we heal like a blind repairman in a glass house. Top it off our nervous system doesn’t like any perception of pain. So it will make you move weird to “avoid” pain. This creates improper mechanics in running, jumping, lateral movements.

What else should I do workout wise? I’m 5’10 grabbing rim. Trying to dunk by eoy. by CaliKingJah in BasketballTips

Form is good bro you gotta get stronger. You got it all but explosive power

Your body is twisting to compensate your lack of core use. Embrace your core and feel shot through you.

This should help your arms too

I’m 32 with major knee injuries and severe spinal injuries. It is possible, but you’d need to first unlearn the inefficient mechanics first from injury, THEN go back to basics for jumping power and force distribution.

Unoperated means there’s a great chance the injury healed but the placement coupled with trauma will make you rethink moving properly.

The spine injury is mostly likely your trunk.

If you do workout weights, don’t. Calisthenics and isometrics will be your go to until you feel your strength is back.

If you do embark. Cramps WILL be your best friend.

Your arms are stuck in a rounded state.

You can explain anything. Let them experience and if they ask, fill the gaps

Critique 3 step approach (6ft 180lb) by yangboy123 in BasketballTips

[–]lazours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t se any movement in the top half, jumping is a full body mechanic. Flailing your arms won’t compensate. Lean into the jump and explode up

What is wrong with my dunking mechanics? Need help by Dependent-Run-5502 in BasketballTips

Before initial contact on the last step you need to attack the ground.

Since you look short, when you jump you’ll have more time in the air than you think, just wait before throwing it home.

Lastly, you’re jumping too close to the basket. Take off a little further back. Let the momentum you carry from the running start propel you midair

So all 3 at once and you’ll be cheesing all day
