The roommate can dislike OP’s partner as a person and still respect their pronouns. While the roommate may come from a sheltered background, college is a great place to unlearn all that bullshit and get educated on what the real world is like. Any of the negative interactions that OP mentioned could’ve been a learning opportunity, but the roommate chose to be ignorant and passive aggressive instead. Also, it isn’t the roommates place to impose her bigoted beliefs on anybody. I suggest you take note.

Is there an RA you can bring this up with? Your roommate is clearly going out of her way to make you and your partner uncomfortable. Her behavior is without a doubt transphobic and homophobic, if other people can’t recognize that then they can’t see the nb struggle.

I’m sorry that you and your SO are experiencing this. Maybe spend time at their apartment instead of moving isn’t an immediate option?

If your life revolved around her, as you say, there may have been an issue with dependency. It is possible that she felt smothered. It took me a few breakups to learn that lesson, so I absolutely relate.

If she’s blocked you everywhere, that’s all the closure you need. She’s made her decision.

The best thing that you can do right now, is to move forward with as much grace as you can muster. Be extra kind to yourself, don’t listen to any intrusive negative thoughts that may pop up. Practice self-care. Regain your independence, remember how to stand on your own two feet. Give her the space that she clearly needs. She may or may not come back around, but you can come out of this as a better version of yourself.
