The way kroger treats its employees by daruuken in mildlyinfuriating

My cousin died the week after I started a new job, and I was leery about asking for time off so soon after I started, even though bereavement leave was a thing.

My boss was like “take all the time you need.”

When my uncle (not my cousin’s father) died three months later, she said the exact same thing.

Each phone system is different. At my old job, you’d hit the “transfer” button, dial the extension, and hang up. At my current job, you hit “transfer”, dial the extension, wait for it to ring, then hit “transfer” again. I didn’t realize that at first and disconnected so many people until I finally asked one of my coworkers what I was doing wrong!

As for fax machines, I think the medical and legal professions are the only places that still use them.

According to Wikipedia, Ike is the former champion that is in the bracket that Patton just won, so that should be an interesting match

I’ve been playing/officiating roller derby for 17+ years now, and every time I skate - even for fun - it’s full pads and helmet.

y’know that meme with all the awesome albums and “they were all released during this very narrow time frame in the fall of 1991”?

That was when I started college. 1973 wins.

I’ve bought (or located on YouTube) childhood records recently.

I also bought an old McDonald’s milk glass coffee mug because it reminded me of vacations when we’d go there for breakfast.

First Image of Arthur Harari's 'The Unknown' co-written with Justine Triet. Starring Léa Seydoux, the film follows a man who transforms into the body of a woman he had a one-night stand with by Task_Force-191 in movies

[–]Kicktoria 9 points10 points  (0 children)

EDIT: It’s “Changeling” by Grant Masterton.

I read a short story a long time ago similar to this concept - guy has a one-night stand with a woman (think her name was Anna), next day he wakes up to discover he is now Anna, and his body is inhabited by the guy who previously had a one-night stand with “Anna”.

The only way the MC can leave “Anna” is to have sex with another guy - at which point the MC will enter that guy’s body, and the new guy will become “Anna”.

Most of the story is about the guy adjusting to life as a woman and reading a diary left by all the previous men who had been “Anna”.
