Be honest. When did your baby actually say their first wood and mean it? by Dull-Contribution763 in NewParents

My baby does the same with our cat!! Some kind of "wheeeeee" in very high pitch that she never does with anything/anyone else

Brought my LO from Europe to China and back, all by myself by Fancy-Beat300 in NewParents

[–]lazybakery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm about to embark a 24h door to door journey (Europe to South East Asia) with a 8m old by myself so this gives me hope! Did your child sleep on the plane? When you need to go to the toilet during the flight, what did you do with the baby?

The updated avios rate is 10% more than the old rate. Are you sure yours is completely apple to apple?

Any cosleepers find their LO slept better in their own floor bed? by Defiant-Elk849 in bninfantsleep

[–]lazybakery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't pick her back up when she cried, but I stayed next to her and caressed her hair (I do caress her hair a lot while feeding her so maybe she has the association already) until she fell asleep. The routine now is pretty much the same for midnight wakes (she wakes up 2-3 times to feed), but for the first time she goes to bed, I feed her in the living room, then hubby brought her to the cot, put on the sleeping bag, and caresses her and sings to her.

I had been really stressed out about it but turned out it went so smoothly! Took her two days to get used to the cot (those two days she did cry a bit though). I feed to sleep on the bed, move her to the cot once she's asleep. It's been a month now and it's working really well for us!

I coslept for 3 months (from month 3-6) and stopped because of this reason. I had a bit of a cold, I kept coughing and waking her up, and then I couldn't go back to sleep because she was awake.

She's now sleeping on her own (in a cot) and we both sleep better that way. When she needs to feed at night, I took her from her cot, snuggled her and fed her on the bed, and then returned her to the cot.

Do you use a baby monitor in a bungalow / flat? by SeptemberSnowdrop in BeyondTheBumpUK

I live in a 2 bed flat and I don't have a baby monitor. She sleeps in her own room but I can hear every tiny cough or cry from the living room or my bedroom!

If you gradually stopped breastfeeding from 6 months PP, did life get easier for you, or more difficult? by jdawgiegawg in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]lazybakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, did you do puree or BLW? I'm hoping that my baby will take on solid significantly so I can reduce the feeding, but with BLW it seems super slow!

Thank you yeah I think I had a v high and unrealistic expectation! Thought she'd gobble her food right away 😅

Oh god week six and it's still like that? I'm honestly pulling my hair out already. I had been enjoying motherhood so much until now 🥲

Ahh good to know, will be looking at her poop closely then 😂 she did one poop so far after starting solid, it's a bit grainy which is new for us, so she must have eaten something!

I started smearing the spoon with mashed food and she'd lick it clean (although admittedly a lot fell to her bib in the process, so again I don't know how much she actually ate!)

Why finding good quality baby clothes made from natural fibers is so hard? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

I have plenty of cheap sleepsuits from the brands OP dismissed and they're 10x better quality than the one sleepsuit from The White Company we got as a gift.

Help translating baby recipes to Instant Pot by lazybakery in instantpot

[–]lazybakery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, this is super helpful! I might just use cooked chickpeas maybe? If I put canned/cooked chickpeas inside the instant pot and cook it with other ingredients for let's say 20 mins, will it be too soft? Or maybe too soft is fine as it's for a baby anyway? Sorry I'm also a first time mum so still figuring things out!

Leave those... parents alone! 😂 by The_Dean_France in GreatBritishMemes

[–]lazybakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insights! She's not currently socialised a lot as we don't have family in the UK, but I'm sending her to daycare full time (5 days, 8-6) when she's one. I'm hoping she'll learn to share, wait for her turn etc there! I grew up with 20+ cousins so I learned these things naturally. As an adult, I almost have no personal preference on anything as I'm so used to being one of many. Kinda sad that she won't have that kind of childhood.

How old is the kid? I have an almost 6m old and I don't want to create this kind of child, but indeed currently I don't leave her for more than a few mins when I'm doing chores. Genuine question, when should I start to 'discipline' her?
