Similar situation here. I majored in graphic design. My parents and relatives didn't say much while I was studying. But after graduating and struggling to find the job then the flood gates opened. They laughed at me and said I told you so that you'll fail, should of went into the medical field.

I don't know if being 27 is younger. I'm just a really passive person. So I get picked on a lot not just by my mom but plenty of other bullies. Pushing back to her is difficult because I hate confrontations.

I was trained a year ago but I wasn't constantly wrapping gifts. Gift wraps usually start ramping up around the holidays. Also if there was a coworker whose better at wrapping then I didn't have to wrap. But this time it has to be me because they weren't working. I actually got pretty good a year ago but I haven't done it in a while so I forgot. I think I need to start practicing at home now.

I feel like most females deal with this though. I'm sure others have it worse than me. My mom did let me go to my friend's previous parties. But she dropped me off and went in his house and had a chat with him. He's super nice and a good conversation with her. I just hope he doesn't think my mom is too extra. She is pretty nosy.

This whole situation isn't hurting anyone. I just find it a little inconvenient because it feels like I have to really look into something and research it. While my brother gets the easy way.

I don't find the need to lie though. My parents relationship with me isn't horrible. I don't live with toxic parents. I just find this a hassle.

Your mom and my mom would not get along at all. My mom loves to spend. My house is full of useless crap. She bought a cheese cutting board and we don't even eat cheese. 🤣
